I wached your walkthough and it helped. first i didn't know how to escape from turrets at the beggining. then i couldn't complete mini-chamber with gels then i couldn't understand that is that arrow doing then i trapped myself (See @Hell Diguner trap 2) then i placed all cubes and didn't know what to do next

I wish there was a portal placement helper for the light bridge to get past the turrets.

I trapped myself twice in room 2 in the advanced chamber. First time I walked in, tried to place a portal, and both my portals were removed and the door closed on me. Second time I placed a portal from outside the room, grabbed the cube, and used the tractor to enter the button room. Again, my portals were removed, the cube fizzled, and I was trapped. I finally got it to work by entering the room through a portal placed on the floor next to the laser receiver - definitely not intuitive. --- Instead of fiddling with "did you trap yourself" logic, why not make the door open and remain open when you activate the laser receiver?

A very creative and clever map, but it was so frustrating having to play trial and error in the last chamber's part two with the rotating portal. The energy pellet was not working for me and just giving me a purple checker board, but then again, I've only seen it work in one custom map, so not sure how that can be fixed. Great work overall, though.

1.The turrets in the begging are meant to be difficult.
2.The portal orienter is buggy in this map and I would recommend to shoot the portal a few times (mostly in the center) to get it going.
3.The cube fizzled probably because you got stuck in the room that it's meant to go.
4.If you send me some gameplay I'll take a look at it and fix stuff where is needed.

The turrets were to difficult to pass in the first part. Later in advanced chamber two, the portal orienter didn't really work, so I had to drop the cube in at odd angles to finally get the turrets, then when I got into that back room w/ the cube button, I put the cube on the button, at which point it disintegrated, my portals diappeared, I couldn't make any more potals and couldn't walk through the open door, nor could I die or do anything except restart the level very annoying!!! so I gave it thumbs down

Thanks for your feedback Ispirata. I have a few maps to release soon and I will take the music volume into consideration. :)
The Sojourner 25 Nov, 2012 @ 2:47am
On the plus side, you managed to script the music so that the music volume slider will control it. A couple of sound tips:

1) Watch the volume for music sounds that play everywhere. 8 is usually a good number to have the volume at for these types of sounds rather than 10.
2) Try using custom soundscapes (using an env_soundscape_triggerable and a trigger_soundscape) to add a sonic ambiance to your map. I used Testchamber_med_01 for most of your map.

OK...now for my commentary...

First part: the turrets are very difficult to pass. I didn't actually die at all, but I came very close!!
Second part: the loud music drowns out the AI voice, making it fairly difficult to understand. Thus it took me a while to know what to do.
Advanced part 1: I managed to find a glitch solution using only repulsion and conversion gels.
Advanced part 2: Very cool to see the portal orientator. However what you did to untrap the player in the event that the player gets trapped didn't really help.
Advanced part 3: Can get a tad annoying to redirect the energy ball, but otherwise a neat, easy test.
Advanced part 4: Indeed it does take ninja skills to solve, although I actually liked that part the best, as the "ninja" part of it really epitomizes Portal. However if the player manages to get stranded on the angled panel, the path back to the faith plate is not a pretty one.

Overall, I loved it, and I hated it. Thus I can't give this test a rating.

Wowwwwww! The opening titles are made in Hammer? Unbelievable!! Congrats!!
DocWibbleyWobbley  [author] 8 Nov, 2012 @ 12:49am
Glad you enjoyed the video. Actually the opening titles are made entirely in Portal 2 using Valve Hammer Editor :)

Very nice. :-) Cool open titles. You did it in some 3D software, and After Effects? Very cool to see the solutions to the rooms. The arrow is spinning genius. And of gels is very ingenious. I like to know that you are Bulgarian, sometimes it seems that everyone in the workshop is American or English. I am Brazilian. Congratulations again for the great map.

Solution video is up feel free to check it if you're stuck. Hope you enjoy :)

PsychoBR I saw your demos and I'm GLaD you liked it (kinda). I will make an intended solution video but until then - a little hint: The arrow thingy on the wall - position it 90 degrees and shoot a portal. See what happens. As for the gel it's hard to explain it. Better see it when the video is out :)

1. The turrets is cool, but difficulty excessive. I died many times.
2. The of lasers is quite fun.
3. The diversity only becomes cool when resolved.
4. The transition was beautiful.
5. I liked the central room, indicating that there are 4 puzzles to exit.
6. The crushers is cool, but requires agility ninja.
7. The combine ball is fun.
8. Do not understand the rotating arrow. What's the use?
9. We also could not solve the puzzle of the gels.

My vote is neutral because: I found several little puzzles intuitive and boring. But a map is well designed, made for highly skilled players. What is not my case. I gave up.
Congratulations on the fine work of Hammer.

Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care

I found the turrets very difficult to pass.
ninja's won't have a problem.
but mere mortals will die a few times here.
(as I did)
after falling from tractor beam,
I heard the music & talking.
but could not understand enough of what was said, to be helpfull.
including what is said, back in the 1st chamber.
so I repeatedly jumped into goo, to try to hear what was being said.
(with the turret voice distortion & the music, I still could not make out what was being said ?)
eventualy gave up.
so if what is said has any bearing on the next step / solution, it can't help me.
so for the above reasons, I will not thumbs up.
but as I have not played to the end, it would not be fair of me to judge this map.
so I will not give thumbs down either.

Enjoyed it all, turrets were fine. The crushing plates were tough as hell - not as enjoyable as the rest though. Not sure if completing the gels section with white gel *only* was the intended method but definitely the way I did it.
esmo 26 Aug, 2012 @ 1:18am
really enjoyed downthumbing this map!
n00b 21 Aug, 2012 @ 3:53am
There is a bug on the chamber with the 3 gels (blue, orange and white): You may fall in the gap of the the rising panel (activated by button) and there is no way to exit.
Very frustrating after 1/2 hour I was playing this level.

Hard map with a superb design and a nice reward :)
Kun0 12 Aug, 2012 @ 5:03pm
A couple things:

One, the turrets at the beginning are totally possible. It just requires thinking. And reflexes.

Second, glitches. The pneumatic diversity vent doesn't work for some reason. I tried restarting the chamber (admittedly, I used notarget to get past the turrets the second time, the jump is tricky) but no matter what I did, it wouldn't pull me through. I managed to get past it by noclipping to the other end, but I may not have ended up in the correct place (I went to the room shown above, with the four rooms and the button in the center).

Also, as several people have noted, it is possible to fall into the space under the slanted platform in the room with the gels and get stuck, which I'm sure wasn't intended.

Other than that, great level, though I couldn't get past the spike plates. That room is completely rediculous (and noisy)... or maybe I just suck at Portal.
joboso 12 Aug, 2012 @ 9:21am
The last chamber, was too noisy and not in the spirit of Portal (having to time a jump to make a double shot...lame) Also the levels has some bugs. Get rid of those and the spots under the angled platforms that open where you can get stuck and the level has potential.
thewalkinglink 11 Aug, 2012 @ 6:36pm
HOW DO YOU GET PASS THE FRICKIN TURRETS!!!????
E1craZ4life 10 Aug, 2012 @ 8:09am
THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE! I CAN'T GET PAST THE TURRETS!

Bravo BULGARIA! Samo taka <3
Lord data_Nick 9 Aug, 2012 @ 9:27am
loved the ending
DDR Khat 9 Aug, 2012 @ 3:48am
It wasn't hard it was just awkward and that was a major let-down unfortunately. The turrets at the start were annoying simple walking doesn't get past (the best way I found was jumping to get a -bit- more speed) and the crushers were just irritating and loud.
Overall the puzzles were simple just implied difficulty, only two parts were challenging but in what feels an unfair way.
Last 1 U C 8 Aug, 2012 @ 10:52am
tricky at some points.....but really cool, great job!!!!!

Loved it! Return of the energy pulses from Portal 1
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 7 Aug, 2012 @ 1:10pm
So I'm not sure if I'm at the 'simply testing' part, but the turret part at the start is obnoxious as hell, and as a result I'm not going to continue playing this.
