Savegame crashes should not happen, unless you had saved a game using a previous version of this mod which then suddenly experienced a change. The most common culprit is if media files - eg sounds and images and 3d models - are no longer referenced by the mod's latest updates. I have not experienced a savegame crash except if and when there were alterations to the mod's files.

2, thank you for your report. Apparently, you can't have units require 2 different upgrades to be created, the one being a requirement for the other.

superior mod, i couldnt imagine how cool can be this game after so much time, but this mod show me. All is working, but there are some things i would to know: 1* How to choose militia by mouse (who is recruited from small houses) i click on they but nothing happens :c 2* it crashed when i tried to research "engineering" tech in sawmill, why? :c

Tried it and didn't like it. There is a cap on the number of baracks you can build meaning you can't utilize our economy really at all at the end and the conquest portion of a match is just a slog. There's too many buildings and the prerequisites for research is too spread across way too many buildings. Was not a fan of these changes.

You can try using the XBOX/Non-Steam Worklshop version of this mod. It is a modder-friendly version of this mod.
It has been designed in such a way so that you only need to back up your vanilla /data folder, then replace the contents once more, when you are finished.

To pick the factions you want to play, check the second image on the pic showcase. You will see that picking "Americans" allows you to play as the French in this mod.

I cant see the factions when I load the mod, I see factions of the basegame like france, but if i click on france and press start it just selects a mod faction like the HRE

Not sure what you mean.
It should work with AI but normally we recommend playing at Normal difficulty or higher.

Sorry, I should have read the instructions on a crash in the wiki before a tried to talk. Now a know that it was not very helpful. Unfortunately I already forgot all other relevant info. I dont know if the Norse temple in last age is working, I will test, but the City Center for the Chinese is invisible. Good luck in all of your projects!

Well, it's a long story....

You didn't really provide any new insights...You cast your net a tad too wide, perhaps, but this mod did not get any real CTDs for years until I started adding new animations made with Blender. Thing is, this mod is not the only one that had CTDs.

Before, it was Rise of the Moderns (available on Workshop, soon to be retrofitted for Gold).

The issue was defective animation files. There have been some new High / Late Middle Age units that received the new animations. I just hope that amending the animation files has solved your issue because I am fighting another tidal wave of CTDs for Swords of the Prophets, as a drive toward creating *another* prequel for Rise of Kings ....

I've made some changes to unitrules.x, which I suspect is causing the issue. Since you mention that the game crashes within 15-30 minutes of start it would seem that it is most likely to be a unit since a single unit can be shared over one or more factions. Crashes at high-level AI could mean that the AI may be training a unit or building a Wonder that is causing the crash.

Take notes of the Ages of any games that crash. Max Age can be a good indicator of what is wrong.

Said AI player with no border is usually the Turkish faction.

If you think that the faction causing the crash is INDEED the Turkish one, then try and not play games involving Turks (they replace the vanilla Lakota faction) see if that helps. It is strange because so far, you are the only one to have complained about crashes thus far.

Hi there, me and my girlfriend were playing just fine for a few days then we starting getting crashes about 15/20 minutes in the game almost like clockwork. Usually without an error message or anything. The only thing we've noticed that is weird is that when we put a fewtough AI one of them tends to spawn without a nation border. Like....they have no colored border any more to mark where they are. And that nation tends to act weird by placing cities closer to us even across a map.

We've unsubscribed and subbed again a few times,
Script no script
Tried different nations
Tried different colors
Doing moderate AI seems to be working but that's really boring

Yes but Rise of Kings is a more "primitive" mod. In any case no walls are existent.
For my campaign I prefer to represent the Great Wall (or what passes for it in Jin territory) as a series of Fortresses and Bastions :)

I have no intention of adding walls other than as a scenario-only non-buildable, due to the fact that RoN was not designed to carry them.
It has not helped that I have not mastered making campaigns for RoN yet, I still have yet to fix the issues with my CTW on Ron.heavengames.com , The Power and the Glory :(

I can confirm that the mod works as expected, you just need Science, Mil and Construction upgrades to get what you want:

@Rice Farmer: it is NEITHER -- it is a standalone skirmish-only mod. It is true tht I would like to change it to a new campaign / scenario list but so far, I cant' get anyone to help me create scenarios, and trying to get RoN as it is to make scenarios with content from this mod is a nightmare :(

Okay, can you try to check all your settings and not use scripts? I don't encourage the use of scripts even as I wish I could -- I have received numerous complaints of peoples' multiplayer games crashing if scripts were used. This is not an issue confined solely to my mod.

That is strange because I tried the Workshop version and it seems to check out fine. Mods should not affect your game and any files that were uploaded to Workshop as a mod will override your default ones while the mod's files are in use.
