- Play as a civ with a unique harbor (England or Phoenicia).
- Attack an enemy city with a harbor, and pillage that harbor all the way down.
- Conquer the city. You immediately get +1 food on all water tiles, even though your dockyard/cothon is still damaged.
- Repair the dockyard/cothon for an additional +1 food on all water tiles. Repair any other buildings you tore down as well. 4 food on unimproved coastal tiles, anyone?
Clearly a bug, of course. Something about that transition lets the bonus double up, as if you're getting the bonus for both the harbor that was and the cothon/dockyard that is. But only if the district is pillaged when you take the city. Probably not fixable - it looks like a game bug that comes up because you attached tile yields to a district rather than a building.
And it's all so easy to do in a naval domination game. I discovered it by pure accident.
It looks like you can edit the WaterTiles_Gameplay.sql to change the yields.
mine is located in steamapps/workshop/content/289070/881541733 (first number is game id, second is mod id).
Could you, please, help me with editing this mod? What line i should edit to remove +1 Food to all water tiles from Harbor?
I played Dido and took full advantage of the city center effects and yeah I finally built the Amundsen–Scott with a turn 150 settler I purchased on snow hill island with three fish boats (and pantheon) and city center effect of plus 4 - my city grew so quick and I placed 5 industrial mines that I quickly was able to work since I had so much food.
I would say it would be better off just providing 2 food, gold, and production for coastal cities (assuming techs). And possibly push gold to lets say cartography and give 4 to make it more impactful as 2 gold later is much weaker compared to the earlier boosts food and production provide with sailing and shipbuilding.
Just my 2 cents.
your mod has been translated by Junky into German and the translation is now part of the German translations for Civilization VI mods mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.
I think it only improves once a harbourdistrict is inplace, so it will take a while....
Love this tweak! Coastal civs can become real powerhouses, once they get good at sailing (seaports). Not really OP, since it isn't a super early game boost, but settling coastal feels good again!
