@ardrej.01 the buildings proportion should be fixed, and what hills do you speak of? If you mean the slopes up toward the city centre, its meant to accommodate multiple units to make even ground.

Im going to safely assume you're basing your opinion from the (older version) of the map. And you havent played the updated version ive recently made. And yes there are few people preferring the vanilla sieges in terms of gameplay and mechanics, i respect that.

The map its pretty but gameplay wise is pretty bad, too crowded the hills are to steep, but what kills it for me is the proportions, the buildings are too big, more like a epic battle for the city it looks like if the smurf are fighting rats(not the skaven) totally inmersion breaking i actually prefer the vanilla version

@aize Hard to do a siege in campaigne as the AI just deploy at the island on the West side where the connector does not allow units to cross to. Had to use flying spam to finish a battle. Otherwise its a pretty fun map in multiplayer.

Dude. It's a good map and all, but there's too much stuff on it to properly play a battle on it, let alone a multiplayer battle.

Currently, as of now, I am collaborating with other fellow map creators to create Mousillon in all its glory, hopefully this time, we will eliminate problems straight off the bat as we make (saves time and have people play it stress free/error free as it is uploaded) so do look out for that.

I am also, after I've created Mousillon, looking forward to create my version of Brionne and Outskirts of Carcassonne Castle, so it creates a cohesive feeling with connected immersion toward the players that plays that part of the Campaign.

All these are possible ONCE I've updated Carcassonne Castle, which is taking longer as expected, so for all of you, thank you for being patient!

@The Everkaptin thank you for your kind words, regarding the pathway toward the garden (which I think is what you implied to) I will adjust, since there was a terrain_hole that was blocking units to enter it.

I have two questions, first am I allowed to use this as a custom siege battle in the campaign, i would like to use it for my mod as clearly im not gonna find or even be able to do the bretonnia capital better justice than you have good sir?

Second across the ladies bridge to the left units can not come down the path going away from the castle, is that intentional because i had thought taking taht path would be a nice artillery spot to shoot the enemy from the castle gardens?

Not to downplay the sheer enjoyment I get out of your map or the absolute beauty that it is, just my response. Oh and as you have said being able to Garrison the walls and defend the city from the start would be awesome, so thanks for doing that in advance.

Deployment zones. And Reinforcment does not work on this map. Other units just dont appear. Also walls that seige units can use and closed gates.

@Anaranas this is the first time I've come across this certain problem except the Reinforcement lines. As much as I hate to say this but please refrain from using my map for the Grand Campaign until I've updated it (I'm holding a huge update, possibly fixing everything!) So sorry about that! I promise, it won't be long until I've done so, until then, sit tight!

@Disciple of CLQ thank you :) the changes I'm making will definitely improve things in terms of gameplay, as issued by several players in the comment section. Rest assurred! I will be making that update!

Hey, this map looks stunning. My friend and I recently downloaded the Grand Campaign custom maps collection and have been playing using it but for some reason every time we try to start the battle of Castle Carcassonne it crashes one of us out. has there been any reports of multiplayer problems?

@Aize Excellent! Absolutely excellent. That all sounds amazing. And I love the idea on making it one big update. Definitetly no rush on my part. I just thought I'd let you know. Great to know you are noting and changing all the issues. Cannot wait for all that you have planned for this map and when all that can be impented. It will be spectacular! And it's already amazing.

@Knight of Roses thank you for your feedback! I really appreciate it! And sorry for those bug issues/problems, I'm holding a HUGE update that fixes practically every feedback given; this includes but not limited to siege-able walls (garrisonable as well), working gatehouses, working towers, a capture point, reinforcement errors fixed, Rescaling of the city itself, removed most of the terrain cliffs at the east side that floats, the north bridge being flat and more.

Reason why it hast been updated is because I'm not done with the fixing and I want to update everything in one single go (that and I have uni work in the way :S). But! Right now i'm testing out those changes/fixes to see if there is any new problems that arises. And I will keep making maps!

@Aize The second issue is in regard to the North Gate and Bridge. The stone that covers most the ground of the bridge crossing itself makes all the units which cross it sink into the ground so that about half their bodies or so cannot be seen. It's just a little bit annoying whilst fighting there because you can't see, (and hence) can't enjoy the battle that takes place there. If you could fix these two problems, that would be very splendid! Love this map. Keep making them!

@Aize So I just played the map. An absolutely beautiful interpretation of Carcassonne Castle, I must say. I was amazed by all the details. Simply outstanding. Definetly one of the top ten maps on the Warhammer workshop right now. With that said however, there were a few issues/problems/bugs I did encounter while playing on the map. The first is far to the east (I think it's east) in the direction facing the Keep/Castle itself. If you look east, beyond the castle, right to the edge/border of the map there are some floating objects there, such as serveral large trees and stone pieces of the castle.

@Moltac123 Not at all! It's okay, I always take in any type of feedback and consider the negative ones in a critique manner to improve what my maps lack. Regarding siege, thanks to Frodo45127 (Wazard God) we map modders have the chance to implement a Capture point and Garrisonable Walls/Gatehouses and working towers (but buggy ladders and non functioning Siege Towers/Battering rams) in our maps. And as always, I'm glad you like it :)

Quick notice check: I've been working with my map with hours on end, and I have to inform peeps that the update I'm planning to make (capture point, manable walls, rescaling, additional siege positions, enchantress tower) are gonna be postponed due to my projects for Uni, I know some of you are eager to test it out in an actual Siege environment, but all in due time :mom:

yea dude you are the man. Ive been messing with the Terry tool for a week now and cant even come close to that. its a serious pain in the butt. You know, naming the tab "prefab" in terry tool was very misleading. nothing "PREFAB" about it lol. I thought it would be prefabricated buildings ready for placement. and elevation? omg its a nightmare. I miss the simpler map editing days of Age of Empires 2.

@Lyrithus one thing at a time, this map still has not been perfect (I'm in the verge of placing actual walls on the outer, and capture point, which makes it a real siege - thanks to one of our modders, which found out how to do it) :) but rest assured I'm thinking of creating a Vampire Count city.

@Black Stabbath, I've re-hauled every prop/buildings in the city, the Peasantry Residency was not finished at the time of update, and I was going to actually place farm lands (since the buildings were so big, its kinda obv that there was no space for that to happen) and these are mostly places where in Carcassonne called "Shepards" lives, neither peasant nor knight, they still protect the realm in the name of the Duke. All will be updated on the same time.

And regarding the A.I reinforcement, I've placed three on the attacking (one from North, West and South) and One on the Defending (Gardens to the West of the Castle), if it doesn't work for you, then I'll try to tinker it.

A very detailed and interesting map, but i have to give some criticism. It is a fair bit cluttered and disjointed, also a feel like the peasent quarter is quite out of character, the peasents are farmers and don't live in the citys but outside in the fields under the watchful protection of the knights.

The AI can't reinforce armys in this map be sure to set reinforcment directions.

@Moltac123 we map modders can't fix A.I until the implementation of Siege battles (walls, gatehouses, tower levels, capture points etc) which would definitely make your experience much easier! But I will try to find a way around this.

Alright, so I got the map to work, and the AI does not work I'm sorry to tell you. The Wood Elves just pushed siege towers through my lines disrupting them. And I was unable to attack their troops within the siege towers, and my battle lines just got completely messed up. Then their archers shot my men at arms w shields, who were not facing them anymore, and I lost a battle on my legendary SFO campaign. Hopefully you can fix this.

i am currently using steel faith overhaul. I have SFO, Grand Campaign Settlement Pack, Orc and Greenskin Settlements, installed. And whenever I try to fight my defense of Carcassone on my Legendary campaign Warhammer crashes :(
