AME2 will also incorporate some other new content in the form of new techs and components.
I'll see if I can rig that up when I go to make the cores a ship component (like thrusters/sensors) rather than an auxiliary slot item.
Martin's teaser today suggested that armour will be a seperate pool of 'health', alongside SP and HP. I'll be adjusting various all the modules to compensate, of course.
If armour and hull repair are seperate values, then expect to see armour/hull rep modules get added (of course). There may also be armour platings and the like, but I'll have to wait and see how the module changes shake out before I make any decisions.
I'm also considering expanding the range of engine/thruster slot options with some variants.

If Paradox don't beat me to it, one of the first things I'll probably test out adding is variant hyperdrives. The navigation upgrades will also be tweaked depending on how changes to hyperlanes themselves shake out.
