Okay, I believe I have fixed the size 35 planets. I'm not entirely sure why it was happening, or why it wasn't happening to me before, but I think I have it working now.

Thank you. The ruined segments are in fact tech segments, as I thought. The only reason they are still selectable like that is because they have the engineering and living metal resources. You can rename them like any other planet if them being called "Ruined Segment" bothers you. I thought about doing that automatically, but I didn't want to override the systems that already have segment names.

I am not sure about the 35 tiles. It hasn't happened to me so far, so I will need to do some more testing tomorrow. You're definitely right that this is a problem.

Hm. The 35 tile thing is definitely a problem, but I haven't been able to replicate it. Are you using any other mods?

I would not expect the "tech" segments to be usable, that's just the way they are. On the other hand, I'm also not sure which 4 in particular you're referring to, so I don't think I quite understand yet. Which icon do you mean? Could you possibly show me a screenshot?

Actually the 4 segments that have an icon are not usable in any way after being repaired.. only the one that doesnt has an icon in the beginning gets a planet icon after everything is repaired and the big problem is, this "planet" got 35 tiles... visually the tiles window can only show 25 tiles max.

@Wykin
Thank you for clarifying.

The ringworld in the Cybrex home system only has one habitable section (the hub that you mention). All the other parts are "tech" or "seam" segments. A player-built ringworld has four of each type (habitable, tech, seam), I think, but the Cybrex one is different for some reason.

I thought about including the option to add more habitable segments if there are less than four, but I decided that that was more work than I was willing to do for a mod that will hopefully be deprecated with the next game version anyway. Sorry!

I got the Cybrex home system (precusor event chain) and i repaired the ringworld. All parts looked undamaged after i repaired them. But only the final part that is only repairable after you repaired all other parts, is colonizable (i think its called hub). It still looks like a ringworld from the model but it has a planet icon unlike the actual 4 ring world parts. Those 4 parts look like intact ringworld parts but are called ruined and neither can be colonized (also show no tile number or tile screen) nor is there a terraform/repair option anymore (after i repaired them earlier).

@Wykin
Sorry to hear that. I'm afraid I don't understand exactly what you are saying. Could you repeat with extra detail please? Which system are you in? What do the 4 ruined uncolonizable parts look like?
Hasu 30 Apr, 2017 @ 2:29pm
This mod doesnt work for me as you would imagine...

After repairing all segements (hub as last one) i get the nexus hub that is a 35 tile "planet".
But the 4 parts of the ringworld are ruined and cant be colonized.

@BoomWolf
That's fine by me - means I won't have to maintain it! In the meantime, this exists.
BoomWolf 24 Apr, 2017 @ 8:53am
You are aware PX announced it to be a standard part of the next upcoming patch right?
cyanobot  [author] 24 Apr, 2017 @ 4:36am
@Christoph70
Good question! Strictly speaking, you don't. You could convert directly to the right section, and indeed this is what I did to start with.

However, I had some difficulty convincing the AI to repair non-habitable ringworld segments (which leads into a whole 'nother question of balance and aesthetics). The false planet is flagged as habitable, so it acts as a bribe of sorts to convince the AI to perform the repairs. As an unanticipated side benefit, it also let me label the terraform button "Repair" rather than "Ring World", which I found clearer (particularly with the non-habitable sections).
Christoph70 23 Apr, 2017 @ 10:38am
Question why you have to change the ringworld into an false_planet if you can change it directly into the ringworld section? Or does it not work as i imagine it?

Oh, thanks, a last this mod update!
