For anyone who'd like to know:
I just noticed that Owlchemist's update of Highway Restoration (link below) was broken as it was taken down or made private. But, then I found out that there exists an updated version for RimWorld 1.0 through 1.5:

Actually, @bearhiderug, changing the header isn't enough. I've just updated it, and took a bit more than just a header change. I had to change a couple of XML files because the tags are now case sensitive, and I had to fix some formatting issues. But I've updated it now, it doesn't matter.

Can the lampost block in the build tab be made smaller/shorter and be made into something resembling a lamp post instead of a huge phallic symbol thrusting into the screen where I have to build stuff..?

Otherise this mod is very nice. Be nice to remove-till-otherwise break up the packed dirt floor, but a quick shot of Simply Soil once it's researched fixes it up just fine. Cheers..!

You should change the names of the objects, it just makes sense.
Repaved asphalt -> Asphalt
Highway barrier -> Barrier
Highway lamp post -> lamp post
Just to make it feel, well, for a lack of a word I just cant think of, normal

the description of the highway barrier says 'works as better gunfire than sandbags', shouldn't this be 'works as better cover from gunfire than sandbags'?

So, i have this problem where i can't build any of the lamposts. Like, it says that "the terrain is not suitable", but on every terrain. I can't figure this out. :steamsad:

your mod is giving-me some strange red errors, every time a pawn tries to build a asphalt.
its something related to 10 jobs in 10 ticks.

Neat. I like using the packed dirt early on to create fire breaks since it's free and wood no longer works. Packed dirt and the repaved asphalt have no "work to make" though, they build instantly, which is weird. And asphalt is better in every way compared to concrete and paved tiles, feels like it should have a higher cost since it has the beauty and move speed boost.

@someonesneaky it's common here in the UK to purposfully design it so the lamp post bends on impact with a motor vehicle so as to avoid injuring the occupants as a solid one designed to stay firm increases the chances of serious harm to the occupants of said vehicle but then different countries differnet ways

Re: The posts having a thicker base: That's actually fairly normal on high-traffic areas. Having a thick concrete surrounding the base of the lamp protects it from collisions; without it, a vehicle is more likely to knock it over, which can cause a serious danger. Even though current rimworld transportation is stuck with muffalo and camels, having a broad, paved road with barriers indicates the predecessors likely had motor vehicles, and needed the bases to protect their lights as well.

This mod is awesome but when you deconstruct asphalt it gives you 75 steel instead of 0-1 steel. My colony is now oversteelified :D
