@Deliverator23: Actually, I just had a look at what the difference was between the old modinfo file and the updated one in the zip file. It was the loadorder line. So instead of just loading in the new file in the Macedon directory (because the other DLC mods were working), I did them for all of the DLC folders and... Houston, we have lift-off!

Thanks for your help @Deliverator23. Your continued work on these mods for quite a few years now is marvelous and is truly appreciated.

Now all I have to do is wait for CQUI to finish with the update of their mod, and I'll be as a happy as a pig in mud!

@Basil_oz: Have you checked the Database.log which is found at My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Logs. This will tell you what the issue is.
Basil_oz 13 Feb, 2018 @ 5:40am
@Deliverator23: I downloaded and loaded the Macedon & Persia folder with the modinfo file (I didn't touch the other DLC folders as they are actually working) but still have the dump to main menu issue.

Originally all the Moar units were doing it until I ran the DLC Load Order Fix for R&F executable and it fixed all but the Macedon/Persia mod. This DLC just wants to be difficult. lol

@Basil_oz: Macedon & Persia is working for me and I can build all the addtional units OK. Chances are you are coming up against the Rise & Fall vs DLC load order bug: https://www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/7x8l5g/civ_6_rise_fall_dlc_momentillustrations_database/

Have put this in comments on the Moar Units mod discussion.

Since the R&F update, all of the Moar unit mods now seem to work except for the Macedon & Persia mod. Thanks for all your hard work in creating and maintaining these great mods.
IamLegend 12 Feb, 2018 @ 3:46am
Greatly appreciated that the mod gets updated. The MOAR unit mods belong to my most favorite mods. I hope the work done on the mods will still become accessable whenever Deliverator finds himself unable to continue his work. Its most likely the modding community will work on full spead once firaxis is done developing the game. At least that is what i`m hoping/expecting for the future
KelticKiai90 20 Sep, 2017 @ 6:19am
Love this mod man, if you're going to add more units in the future can I suggest a ranged cavalry unit for Persia like Pathian Horse Archer or Savaran Cavalry to further augment their Cataphracts and for Macedon Rhodean Slinger or Cretean Archer for their ranged Infantry?
KrumStrashni 25 Aug, 2017 @ 2:50pm
@Deliverator23 One more thing...this is probably not the best place to ask, but is there a way ships can be increased slightly in size?
Deliverator23  [author] 25 Aug, 2017 @ 5:53am
@KrumStrashni At some point I might look into a fix for it. It is something that should be fairly easy to fix in the Units.artdef.
KrumStrashni 25 Aug, 2017 @ 3:02am
@Deliverator23 Thanks. I also assumed so, but it would not hurt asking. I have 15+ mods mounted, so it would be a nightmare to eliminate them one by one to see what causes the issue. It is reassuring at least that I am not the only one experiencing this problem :) I thought it could be caused by the Ethnic City State Unit mod, but I turned it off and had the issue still...
Deliverator23  [author] 25 Aug, 2017 @ 2:08am
@KrumStrashni I've noticed that too, but this mod doesn't touch anything to do with the Swordsman as far as I can see. It's quite possible that Firaxis have broken it given their apparent complete lack of any QA process!
KrumStrashni 25 Aug, 2017 @ 1:27am
Is it possible to be getting a glitch with the look of the swordsmen because of the mod? The textures of the swordsmen are misaligned and their shields look like their capes...just as texture, not shape. I am just trying to track down where this issue may be hidden. I am using many other mods, but just MOAR for units...

@Deliverator23: Unfortunately, Wikipedia is very unreliable for Ancient Iranian Studies (an many other disciplines, for that matter). The passage you quote is based on book by K. Farrokh "Shadows in the Desert," which was universally criticized in scholarly circles (see, e.g., http://bmcr.brynmawr.edu/2008/2008-09-62.html) . Neither Persians were particularly good in naval warfare (they relied on their Greek or Phoenician commanders), nor warships or fleets were particular Persian invention (again, they relied on whathever was already in place). Their Greek, Phoenician, and Egyptian warships were operated and built by local rulers or polities, who were subjugated by Persians, and their loyalities were often questionable. The warships had a plethora of designs (depending where they were built) and commanders followed various battling styles. Therefore, making a 'royal warship' a typically Persian unit is a misunderstanding.
Deliverator23  [author] 2 Aug, 2017 @ 1:40pm
@xshayarsha: According to Wikipedia, Persia was the first empire, under Darius, to inaugurate and deploy the first regular imperial navy. Admittedly the ships were mostly built and crewed by Phoenicians. Naming Units in Civ is hard because the names are usually in the singular - so Fleet or Navy wouldn't work which is why I went for Warship. Maybe Phoenician Warship or Imperial Warship would be better.
shay 2 Aug, 2017 @ 10:18am
"Royal Warship"--that's a very curious choice, taking into account that Persians did not have own fleet, but used Greek and Phoenician fleets
Kurnn 31 Jul, 2017 @ 10:59am
It works! Thank you! ^^
Salorak 31 Jul, 2017 @ 10:42am
very nice :) good work! Thank you!
Deliverator23  [author] 31 Jul, 2017 @ 10:32am
All the load order issues created by the Summer Patch should finally be resolved.
Kurnn 30 Jul, 2017 @ 11:40am
Mr Author, all the "Even Moar Units" does not work with the update.
However, the base "Moar Units" does work.
Salorak 30 Jul, 2017 @ 9:08am
Still crashing after realoading a savegame. Postet the error text in the discussion :)
Chico Chico Chico 29 Jul, 2017 @ 12:58pm
Thankyou for delivering it, Deliverator!
Deliverator23  [author] 25 Jul, 2017 @ 7:12am
Sorry all. There were some issues with the update which are hopefully now resolved. If you need to go back to the previous version 1.0 it is available here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/even-moar-units-macedon-and-persia.26208/history
Kataclasm 25 Jul, 2017 @ 7:04am
Same, i can't load my savegame i was just playing
Iron Hoplite 25 Jul, 2017 @ 7:01am
I think they changed it to "moar macedon and persia" which has broken the game. Any saves using this mod don't work now
Iron Hoplite 25 Jul, 2017 @ 6:57am
My game is doing the same thing Vel
Vel 25 Jul, 2017 @ 6:39am
The latest update change the mod name or something. My saves said missing the Even More Units! Macedon and Persia, but i find there is a content name as "Moar units! Macedon and Persia". So it designed as a new content? or just miss typing?
Datguy47 4 Jul, 2017 @ 3:07pm
The descriptions for the units when selecting who to play as are in Spanish
carlovonsexron01 4 Jul, 2017 @ 8:01am
Oh! And just basically using the same great general model but as infantry would make perfect republic era Triair spearmen and princep swordsmen...
carlovonsexron01 4 Jul, 2017 @ 7:46am
Would you ever consider putting the Hoplite helmet on the Hypaspists body to make a swordsman for Greece?

Like wise using the ancient era great general head for Hannibal on a hoplite body would make a perfect Etruscan hoplite, and the same head on a hypaspists body (and maybe a legionary shield?) would make a great Samnite warrior...
Dunkleosteus 2 Jun, 2017 @ 5:21pm
@Deliverator23 yeah, after reading a bit on Macedon, if we're talking about Macedon as the culture that inhabited the region at the time of Alexander, they don't really have a history much into the medieval period.

On a slightly related note I was playing with these mods for the first time the other day and I had an issue where I wanted to upgrade my musketmen to infantry but couldn't because I hadn't picked up rifling first and had to go back and research it before I could upgrade my musketmen. Is this intentional or what?
Deliverator23  [author] 2 Jun, 2017 @ 5:21am
@TronMonStar That's very unlikely to have much to do with this mod as it doesn't go anywhere near Wonders.
Deliverator23  [author] 2 Jun, 2017 @ 5:19am
@Dunkleosteus That's pretty historical - grab as much as you can early and then try and hold on to it while other Civilizations rise up. What Macedon unit would you have that is outside of the Ancient/Classical eras? I know I fudged things a bit with Kongo and Australia by having DRC and Aborigine units but those are quite controversial with some people already.
Dunkleosteus 1 Jun, 2017 @ 4:10pm
Macedon is reaaaally heavily weighted towards the Ancient/Classical era now, isn't it? More so than before since other civs have more balanced units
Tron 31 May, 2017 @ 2:18pm
after getting this mod im for the first time experiencing a weird issue. my roommate and i play LAN hotseat mode, and now around 130 turns in the game (him using macedon me using persia) im disconnecting from the host. it shows the loading screen for the game then im right back in. probably the strangest thing, it started happening right when i was almost done with the apadana. it wont let me finish building it, everytime that reconnection happens it is removed from queue in the city i was making the apadana. sometimes i could reselect it other times it wasnt even available to continue.

-_-
Pastersnacks 31 May, 2017 @ 5:45am
Lel I used the base code of this mod and gave the macedonian units 20 speed and 90 attack damage and finally beat that Alexander scenerio. Thanks a bunch :):steamhappy:
thijs.dado 30 May, 2017 @ 7:04am
another good mod thank you!
bostonbongrips 29 May, 2017 @ 12:52pm
Great additions as usual. Thank you.
StarGaming 29 May, 2017 @ 9:05am
FINALLY
Deliverator23  [author] 28 May, 2017 @ 2:55pm
@Fifteen Eggs: Well spotted! Technically the Hetairos unit belongs to Alexander rather than Macedon, as with the Redcoat - Victoria, Rough Rider - Roosevelt and Longship - Hardrada. So I'm going to add another unique unit to America, England and Norway next. :)
Aqualung 28 May, 2017 @ 5:44am
YES
Wobbly 27 May, 2017 @ 9:38pm
But wait, Macedon already has 2 UUs, so now it has 4?
tom___zz 27 May, 2017 @ 1:54pm
Thanks for this update man! Persia is my favourite civ, but your mod adds so much to the game that I've been waiting for some moar units before my next Persia run though.
Deliverator23  [author] 27 May, 2017 @ 9:30am
@Lord Simon As mentioned in the description the Ballista has been converted from Civ 5. All Civ 5 and Civ Beyond Earth Units can be converted to Civ 6 relatively simply: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/tutorial-converting-3d-art-from-civ-5-civ-be-to-civ-6.613142/ The flaming arrows are made by upsizing the Archer's arrow effect and downsizing the Biplane death trail fx. Quite happy with how it's turned out but there a couple of minor funny things with it. Making the Tessarakonteres and Yamato look unique is on my list!
Simon Klevin 27 May, 2017 @ 6:37am
and wow where'd you get the ballista model? is that in the game?
Simon Klevin 27 May, 2017 @ 4:49am
could you update the egyptian ship unit, and also the japanese ship unit, to maybe look atleast somewhat different from the standard ones? other than the icon
Abraxsus 27 May, 2017 @ 3:09am
