Unfortunately I believe Paradox's latex changes to the code make it difficult to replicate in the current engine.
This mod only affects graphics and is thus compatible with any and all game-play or overhaul mods. If the fast EU mod you mean is Fast Universalis, then no because the purpose of that mod is to remove every graphical aspect of EU4 that would slow down a Pc with a suboptimal graphics card, one of which is transparency.
You can always upload your own version, if you do eventually decide too.
(It is my policy that anyone can use the work I've done here, and modify or add it to their own mod, and publish it, though please note the original source.)

Are you using any other map mods? If they also replace gfx\FX\pdxmap.shader then it will negate this mod.
I believe it is folder based. For example everything in GFX (the graphics folder), soundtrack, and interface is fine. While common, missions, and decisions can't be edited without changing checksum.
I looked at the description but couldn't find if it said it anywhere.
This would change the the original intent of the mod a little too much for me, and I don't find myself with the time at the moment to create a additional version of this mod; but as I note in all my work (see above):
"(It is my policy that anyone can use the work I've done here, and modify or add it to their own mod, and publish it, though please note the original source.)"
So, if you or another have the proper modding skills, and get the permissions of Negi as well, feel free to publish a version of this mod that includes both Negi's and my features. And if you do, conatct me in these comments and I'll provide a link to anyone's new/altered version of the mod in the decription of the my original mod.
I really like your colors, way easier to see but I love the zoom feaure they got going on. Thanks.
Oh NICE! I'll go take a look at it. :)

First version sometime after Third Rome drops, so I can account for all the file changes, second version after Beyond Typus updates for the new patch, to make compatible with that mod, each new version will update as I do a new batch of countries.
Right now I have written new color codes for upwards of 100+ countries (mainly the major ones) across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, China, and most of the formable Colonial nations, most based on some historical and/or regional reference, with special attention paid to making them distinct from likely and possible neighbors.
from the Latin Transparentem - to allow the passage of light.*

Again, this mode doesn't change the text, that is just another font mod in the screenshots. All that is changed is terrain brightness and map color intensity. This mod also doesn't change individual nation political colors (such as Purple Bohemia); that mod, which is intended to be used with this mod, is forthcoming after Third Rome drops. Also make sure if you're using Revolutionary Borders, you use this version ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=939273262 ) or else the map colors will become oversaturated and blinding.

That is a purple tone based on blending the red of the Bohemian arms with the Blue of the Moravian arms. The Nation Recolor mod (the sister of my Hisotrical Religious colors mod) it will appear in is still WIP, and probably won't release until after Third Rome, since I'd have to rewrite alot of files to update post-release, and I'm still doing a lot of historical reserach for a bunch of non-European countries.
