I haven't heard any complaints from people using it, so it should be fine.

Is this 0.6 ready?

Hey, is there anyway that I could get a version that checks for blocks too? I have been looking for the "claims require sky" mod, but cannot find it.
grunkibis 31 Jan, 2018 @ 8:20am
@Rakkeyal - like a beam of light shooting into the sky (with toggle)!!!!! that casino in vegas, the pyramid one - Luxor?
Terence Powderly 30 Jan, 2018 @ 8:40pm
Is there a way to have the version that disallows blocks above the claim block as well?
grunkibis 15 Jan, 2018 @ 10:55am
hitori, you're the guy i want to seige offline. the game is in beta, metaphorically its like you are walking into the kitchen past the chef and eating food straight out of the oven. host your own server imho and become that example you need, using your candor and wit attract similar players! btw you are pushing like 300 hours, so for $20 and being in the kitchen while the chef is cooking it aint all bad...

Btw Deepflame, you know about the server Shad admins? They clearly state in the rules that they will not tollerate bullying, yet they blatantly violate that and ban players who actually, follow the rules, in favor of people who blatantly disregards rules and spearheads those rule violations. Apparently they nothing but a gang of fachists......... :steamfacepalm: :steamsad:

If you do not believe me go check the game suggestions i posted on steam, not a single one of these guys had anything nice to say regarding any of the idea's i had for improving the game mayorly and easily.

Anyhow this game is just a mayor dissapointment, and i will most likely never play it again becasue of the poor game mechanics, slow development and a self serving fachist community. :steamsad:

Fixed for 0.6 :)

I have made a change to the way it works. It now ignores the blocks, and only checks for voxel collisions.

Regardless of the sense of the mod I would like to give some bug reporting and improvement proposals.

You can not build a claim block when battlements or machicolations (or in general blocks) from a adjacent tower are above it. I get the idea, that in this case one or more blocks are "blocking" the claim block because they are on the same grid, but in the following screenshot you can see, that it should have enough air to breathe (I removed the machiolations from the tower on this grid).

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=956257121

I think the detection mechanism if the claim block has access to the sky or not should not (only) be dependent on grid blocks which are above it but also if it is somehow sourrounded by landscape voxels/block combination (which would prevent players from bury it underground)

[to be continued]

Furthermore I could not build a stone claim in this scenario. I tried several different ways to build it but I couldn't even place it (wooden one worked flawlessly) - which brings me to the next point.

In some cases I get the message, the claim block is blocked after succesful placing and building. Sometimes it is still fine though and sometimes it will get destroyed during the contested time.
Grove_st. 25 Jun, 2017 @ 4:26pm
couldn't you just build a siege tower and get over a wall that protects the claimblock
Robzombolo 21 Jun, 2017 @ 5:50pm
I hate this idea for several reasons:
1) It will immediately reduce the security of any claim block that is placed, by simply making them more accessible.
2) I like to place my claim blocks within a shrine of sorts with arched ceilings and chandeliers directly over the four claim blocks I place next to each other. By placing four blocks together, I then can access the control panel for all four claims from one room.
3) Most importantly for me, I like to build giant automated farms powered by a gear system and a rotor block. The biggest farm I have built so far was a flexible pivot of 49 Plow/Seeder/Harvester sections. It spans in whole or in part 12 claim blocks. The only way to achieve a continuous farm of this size is to have subterranean claim blocks. By making the claim blocks have a view of the sky, you would stymie one of the most important parts of the game...the ENGINEERING part.

In short, please crush this bad idea quickly.

This would only be good feature if there is an option to turn it off. Maybe it could have some use in custum gamemodes/maps etc.
grunkibis 20 Jun, 2017 @ 12:45pm
i support this mod only with the Weapon Protection mod also in place... if hand weapons cant breach stone then this is plausible and welcome -- like Fast Travel by Road it can and should be a server option at the least. and wouldnt this mean the true purpose of the castle is to house the claimblock? currently folks are burying their claimblocks deep inside stone mountains with dozens of stone blocks in front and really no need of a vulnerable castle around it... which is good gamesmanship but lousy historical engineering imo. if its a realism thing how about replacing a claimblock with a Throne? also on the wishlist is some log of who took down the claimblock, some battle history, especially if when you are offline. imo (right now you get nothing but emptiness where your build used to be). also on wishlist: add stone or metal doors also incapable of simple sword breach. Open sky would mean more folks working on ladders i would imagine.
Sinner_D 20 Jun, 2017 @ 12:08pm
Forcing the one block you want to protect the most to be out in the open, NOT GOOD!
Terminal Rex 20 Jun, 2017 @ 11:08am
Please don't add to vanilla that would suck so hard!!
przeugen 20 Jun, 2017 @ 10:18am
Why would you store your GOLD CHEST out in the open.. Lousy idea. Nix this one. Mark it dead on arrival.
Jakaya 20 Jun, 2017 @ 9:54am
Kinda makes building castles redundant wall building simulator is what this will lead 2 :P
Stormbride 20 Jun, 2017 @ 9:42am
I don't like this mod. Yes, this is a pvp game and the claim block should be destroyable. But you also should be able to protect it.
If it needs open sky you cannot protect the claim block.
This mod makes the player that's being attacked very vulnerable.
tvalok 20 Jun, 2017 @ 9:08am
I dont like it, I want to protect my Claimblock within my Keep, to protect my Keep
Udrakan 14 Jun, 2017 @ 10:07pm
Good idea, I would like some restrictions similiar to this in vanilla.
KomradBjonk 14 Jun, 2017 @ 9:10am
i must not play on servers as much as anyone here cause ive never had this broblem. at least not yes anyway
shad 13 Jun, 2017 @ 4:59pm
It Could need some tweaking. There were problems placing it one block next to a roof. I think even shadows will delete the claim in some cases.
Coggernaut 12 Jun, 2017 @ 10:08pm
This is good stuff, perfect to stop pesky exploits. Build a better castle, not a better cube underground :P
Androox 12 Jun, 2017 @ 9:48pm
Thanks Deep <3
jeetrix 12 Jun, 2017 @ 2:48pm
wonderfull solution to a specially annoying problem!
Kharak 12 Jun, 2017 @ 8:59am
Will finally solve the problem of the claim block placed 20 meters under a 3 block deep foundation...
ZÆRO 12 Jun, 2017 @ 12:17am
Perfect!
nukeguard 11 Jun, 2017 @ 10:44am
Excellent idea.
