Yes, I used the same procedures and software as you but since I'm no expert on this matter, I just tried to get the most smooth result I could get, difference IS very noticeable.
I should try and reimport with these same settings too
As for the balancing, perhaps I should have mentioned that I use AWE (Artificial's Weapon Enhancements), which exaggerate the damage gap by quite a bit. Sorry, my bad on that part. Could I change my suggestion to something a bit less overkill? Such as suggesting the damage be raised slightly, just enough to kill a Zorg commander in 1 shot? And maybe a sliiightly faster fire rate, so that it becomes a more practical weapon to use against beheadeds en masse. In any case, you're the boss. I don't want to come across as overly critical, especially with a mod I really like. As it stands, it's still a fun weapon to use, even with AWE, which kinda just brings the default BFE pistol to nearly the same level as this gun.
Thanks again, you're awesome!
I don't know with what program you exported the model to SED, but the smoothing groups were kinda messed up. As a quick test i exported the same mesh using Umodel to .psk ,imported it into 3dsmax using ActorX,exported the mesh without changes to .fbx and finally imported it into SED 2017. Here's a comparison image of the 2 versions' smoothing. Comparison [i.imgur.com]
Next is the normal map. Different engine's use different "swizzle coordinates"
Luckily this is easily fixed since SED 2017 now has a "Flip X" and a "Flip Y" button when creating a normal map.KF2 is an UE game and uses X+Y-.SED on the other hand uses X-Y+,so you can select both of them and the shading will be correct.
Here's a second comparison with the fixed smoothing and normal map.

Overseer, don't worry about it, I have been thinking of making a BFE version as well but a few things here and there that I don't wanna deal with get in my way as I'm trying to work, for now I think I'll stick to SS:HD modding until BFE is proven to be fixed and stable.
On regards of the balance with the weapon, yeah I didn't intend it to overshadow the big guns as the machine guns or the lasergun, but rather it can be an alternative for whenever you wanna save ammo and your weapon stash is looking rather weak, otherwise if it was more powerful it'd completely overdo almost every weapon except for the cannon (since it has perfect accuracy and unlimted bullets)
Also, with the advent of Serious Sam: BFE, could you perhaps do us the honour of adding iron sighting and sprint animations? Just so that I have even more reason than you've already given me to use your gun all the time. Thanks for listening, I hope I didn't come across as a whiney "Gimmegimmegimme!" guy.
P.S. Thanks a bunch for the Serious Sam 2 colts. I use them all the time now! :)
