I believe this mod changes shotguns from firing 3 moderately-strong pellets to 8 weak ones? I wonder how this affects the balance. I imagine it makes them worse against armor but ups their reliability a bit.

considering last update was 2018 it is safe to say it has died. possibly due Xenonauts 2 incoming sometimes in future since 2018

Incompatible with Xenonauts X-pansion Pack: game crashes when pressing L with a vehilcle selected, making it impossible to use secondary fire.

Marasmusine, no problem, the tracer has always kind of bothered me honestly, so I'll try what you said. I see what you mean too, I just had to pellets so large so that they would be visible, so the speed increase doesn't sound like a bad idea. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks for replying Ken. My suggetions would be to, if possible, have the tracer line have more of a "tip" with a thinner tapering line, maybe with a near-white core (if you do an image search for "machine gun tracer" you'll see what I mean), as its bar-like shape is why I mistook it for a laser beam.
Perhaps the shotgun projectile could look more granular? The slower speed also gave it that "thrown stone" feel, although I understand that varied speeds are one of the points of the mod, maybe it's a bit too slow.

Marasmusine, I realize the problem with the laser shotgun I'm trying to fix it. The machine gun fires tracers, like how a machine gun would irl, tracers have a charge in them so they are visible when they are fired. The ballistic shotgun fires buckshot, I guess they could look like stones too

The laser shotgun's beams come from off-screen instead of from the gun. The ballistic machinegun looked like it was firing red laser beams. The ballistic shotgun looked like the character was throwing stones.

Found the issue, if you were not using all of the supported mods only Ballistic projectiles were changed. This mod will still support mods, you just need to do a little bit of work. Check the description and the new guide for more details

This is the only thing I've added to Xenonauts in a long while and it looks like the Xenopedia entry for Lasers has... dissapeared?
I noticed in the changelog it says "Fixed Xenopedia images" so I thought it was relevant.

I installed the Lite version and that one's Lasers seem to work like you intended to.
I have no idea what could be causing this version to not work properly (I got no other mods that affect weaponry in any way and Projectile Overhaul is top priority).

Great mod btw, this is the kind of subtle details that can really make a difference. :)

Are Laser weapons supposed to fire actual beams like in the mod picture?
Because i still have the recolored bullets-like projectiles from vainilla (however, ballistic weapons did change visually.)

Found a small bug: The image for Laser Weaponry is missing in Xenopedia. It appears that the laserweapons2.jpg has an incorrect file extension (actually should be .png); changing the extension appears to fix the bug. Hope that helps!

Lasers should be changed to instantaneous beams to be more realistic versions of laser weapons.

Dundee, You should be able to find it under the beta tab after you click properties, if not ry asking at the forums. If you still can't get it to work I'm working on relasing a version of this that is not dependant on community edition

If you want to make it more plausible, you should make every laser weapon insta-hit not making its "projectile"(which is not a correct term) visible like as if it's just a faster bullet.
