Crock pot will now be less nice with modded recipes that require ice, in the following way:
if you put at least one ice and monster meat, or 3 ices, the result will always be wet goop no matter if moded recipes exist for the thing you tried to create.
If you put 2 ices, there is 50% chance that the result is wet goop.
If you put only one ice, the result will always be a normal modded recipe, unless it contains meat, then it has 15% to produce wet goop instead (because it is usually a meatball-like recipe and I want to nerf that).
I have also set the default rate for eggs to 90% instead of 70%, I think it was too harsh.
I believe the mod is compatible with DST food overhaul (95% chance) but I didn't test yet. You can probably even set conflicting options like ice as a filler enabled in one mod and not in the other, it should work and the recipes that will be generated in crockpot will be the most restrictive.
For the other changes you've mentioned, I'm sorry but I've no time for modding anymore and will be active only to fix critical bugs or reply to comments. If you have some programming basics I would suggest you learn to mod yourself by looking at the code of this mod, since the changes you're suggesting don't look very hard to implement, and will allow you to tweak them exactly how you want.
Coming back at you with probably some of the same cuz I forget but some new.
I'd like bunny men nerfed as well. Double + if theres a way to prevent them from being built on surface. There was a mod for regular DS that did that years back but i wasn't as concerned than.
Bunnies respawn each day and can be farmed by any one more easily than Webber farms monster meat.
I'd like it if there where a mod to keep you from over eating. If food would restore more hunger than you've got empty can't eat it. Keep food from being the catch all for health and sanity. Make it more of over coming attrition.
Removing the rock requirement from healing salve cuz cmon not going to throw away a mortar and pestle every time and rocks a pain in ass long term.
Lastly because i didn't already asked is this compatible with DST Food Overhaul?
Still going around checking out every mod under the sun. As such I got alot of overlap with this. The only bits I'm really interested in are slower honey, Pig Respawn, and morsel and instead of meat form catcoon. (Not sure which mod thats from dont' see it listed here). I use Food Overhaul so not sure if they're compatible with both making changes to birds and filler. Personally I I just want filler limited to 1 per meal. Monster meats fine its a meat item and can't use more than 1 with out it turning to lasagne any ways.
But I'd advise you to test with the default mod options first as it is more an annoyance than a real threat. After surviving winter you'd probably already have found other ways to get food.
Maybe it could be that you need some.. boss-drop in order to keep bee-boxes up and running (Dropped from Bee-queen or something)? One boss-drop will make it produce a good bit of honey, but not infinite before needing a refill. This adds a more fun chore that simply isnt literal gardening, but still not quite maintenace free.
That's an interesting suggestion, here are my thoughts.
I agree bee boxes rate is completely broken, even with the -20%, but imo this is not a problem as at some point players want to focus on something else than food. I'd much rather nerf the end game in an other way, like for example by introducing catastrophic events or more bosses like Deerclops.
Once you manage to setup bee boxes you're probably not starving anymore, and nerfing them like this would not make the game harder but just more annoying, that's something I want to avoid.
This mod only focuses on the early game, as bee boxes are a bad early game option I think we can say they are actually "balanced".
* Filler restrictions will now affect MODDED recipes too. Recipes that actually require ice or twigs are still not affected, just like one would expect.
* Some default configuration values have been changed and this usually messes up DST. You should probably "Reset" the values once after you have updated the mod.
* Crockpot now has a very small chance to return a random dish no matter what ingredients you've put in (can be disabled, default is 1%)
I will soon push a new update to make it compatible with other recipe mods (Currently ice is disabled only for vanilla recipes)
For the problem you mentioned I can't easily fix it, this is because both of our mods overwrite the recipes of the game and he has probably set his mod's priority higher than mine.
That said, I've just added an option myself to disallow monster meat. It's not as elaborate as the mod you mentioned though, but I think it will work. I've also added plenty of configuration options.
I'm going to test the changes tonight, it is possible that there are hidden bugs, but I'm updating it now if you want to try. So far I didn't notice anything weird.
I ve sent you a friend request in case you find bugs/suggestions, you can report them directly to me.
