Candlelight particle system.

Description
Have you ever needed a little bit of fire to go on top of your candles? Have you ever needed a LOT bit of fire to go on top of your candles? I had a mighty need for candles, so I built a quick system to deploy them by the hundreds. In addition to just releasing particles, this pack is intended as a reference for those who wish to reverse engineer these partcles. As such, feel free to use or change them however you want.

(Candle model not included.)

I'd like to give a big thanks to yoshipoland!

this pack makes use of a few textures from the lens dust pack by Yoshipoland, but they required a few small edits so I had to-reinclude them, but I highly reccomend you go grab his lens dust pack below. it has some pretty great quality
effects for camera imperfections .

original looping candle credit to MARK2580. though i do not use his candle texture anymore, both of our candles are based on the same image.

USER GUIDE
-----------------------------------
The proper particles to use , are the ones labelled MASTER. they are numbered based on the number of candlelights you want.

1. Spawn one of these candle particles labelled master. if there is a number (1 - 10 - 25 - 50 ) that number corresponds to how many flames each particle contains.

2. Move the individual control points to the locations where you want the flames to start.

3. based on the timing , there is a 2 second delay from when the first fire goes on and the last. This allows you to fade the fires in with semi-randomness, instead of them all coming on at once. In order to counter act this, give your particle 2 seconds lead time before your shot starts. I will likely update the pack to include NO DELAY variants of these candles as well.

4. Be prepared to turn off particle rendering, to save your framerate if you approach +500 candle flames or more

------------------------------------
Details
-----------------------------------

These particles are intended for filling out scenes with candles. If you only need a single flame for a single candle , use the candleset_master_1 particle. But if you have ten candles? skip straight to the candleset_master_10 particle, which contains ten candle flames in one particle. I have also included a 25 candle and a 50 candle setup, for intensely candlefull scenes.

The materials used in These particles make use of $minsize, $maxsize, and $fadedistance in a couple of different ways in order to achieve a more realistic look. for example

-This pack contains a few Psuedo lens flares which behave appropiately wih regards to to the camera (they don't grow or shrink as you get closer, relative to the screen size.)

-Using the same parameters as above, this pack contains embers which always render at least 2-3 pixels large, making them visible even at extreme distances, while keeping them small when up-close

-Using the fade distance parameter, some of these flares are also designed to fade out with distance in order to allow for increased realism and cleaner control of the final image.

Unfortunately while a good idea, it's too choppy or simply does not work. Project has been abandoned anyway.

I use this particle and it works but, for some reason it has this square effect around it. Any fix?

For those who have trouble getting the particle to show in the map, make sure under Draw Tool Objects that Particles is checked when right-clicking the viewport window.

for those for whom this works, I am happy that you got it functioning. For those who cannot get it, I am sorry for a lack of explanation or faulty files. I have retired from SFM , so what you get is what you get sadly :(
