Something with effort put into it.
Kyano on the other hand just needs to 'sell' his skins in a better way, making it more appealing to people.
We get it. Sushy, Rex etc know how to make a good skin and how to properly promote it.
They earned almost every entry, imho
(Plus for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake i don't want every safe to have a nutshell or special forces. Just no.)
I want ddpat skins for my chains build lmao. Theres ALOT of skins out there that alot of people made better versions just overkill doesnt want them. Like I saw Denley's Skins and alot were very detailed and hotline miami themed. All of it better than the "Hot Miami" skin. They need a new common skin at least or 2 to keep the blue tradition in skin community. "CSGO" Also you said people would like. If you check his workshop, Theres ALOT of skins he made and alot of people love it, it confuses me and otheres not a single skin got in.
The Cotton Candy 5/7 looks like agreat common or uncommon skin tbh.
If you have favorite workshop artists, just support them by following and give vote, also such nice critiques and suggestions are always welcomed.
The main issue here, is that if we made a safe purely for those who have never had their work accepted into a safe previously, then we'd be purposely omitting talented artists based on them being too talented. Which is also unfair.
DerSushy and Rex (named specifically by OP) are very talented artists and always put a lot of work and effort in to design their skins. Along with Athener, Invenitor and many others, they consistantly get accepted, not because of who they are, but by the quality of the work they contribute.
The way the skins are decided, is based on their feedback scores, how well they adapt to being in game (compressed, adjusted, etc. without losing quality) and how good they look. Assuming no other issues arise, they are put into a short list and selected based on that information.
With that, the senior artist at OVERKILL who ultimately reviews the skins for approval, he does not know who creates the skins, he has no bias.
I am in the process of writing an FAQ about the workshop. A more well explained process of selection will be included in that.
Thank you for reading!
I personally don't see adding this type of safe as being well thought out. I understand that it gives people a better chance to be in a safe. But in that way, it sort of creates a reject safe. Like "not being talented enough to get into a regular safe" consolation prize. I don't really see that being good for anyone.
The creators who participate in the safe know that they had to make a different type of safe just for them to get anywhere.
OVERKILL put out a safe which could possibly be sub-standard
The general users receive safes with potentially sub-standard skins.
If there were enough "close calls" in terms of getting into regular safes, if there were enough super talented artists that had never made it for some reason or another, then MAYBE. But i personally don't see it being a worthwhile venture.
Theres alot of skins that are bright and complains about yours???
My best advice is to look at your feedback, tailor your work to what the community like, and see where that takes you.
At worst, you don't like it, it goes nowhere. But you never know. You could develoop some new skills and make some awesome new skins.
