If you make a skin that is added to the game, do you get a free copy of it in your steam inventory?

Yup. All 16 skins in fact, in mint condition, tradable and marketable.

Well if you want a higher reward just wait for the next contest like the one with the retexture for the ru medic. That’s what I´ll do. Plus you don’t have to care for broken UV-maps, a not so well working armor workshop etc..
(nowadays the possibility for such a contest to happen seems to be higher than ever)
