Yep1 At £40 a pop the Vulcan is pricey but it does look good. As a lapsed FXSer I found the dlc getting too expensive but the real reason I don't flight sim so much is that my ageing pc could not handle the more demanding aircraft.

But looking at the age demographic, birthdays posted on JFs forum, most are in the over 40s and possibly have more disposable income that the TS demographic. But that's just my guess.

Having invested quite a lot of cash and hours in my 5 years in TS I generally consider both well spent.

Yes — we are old pensioners that are trying hard to spend our money so the children will not have anything to fight over after we are gone .... :-)

Well Lead, we haven't hung up our spurs yet and I'll keep on until I fall out of the saddle... or fall off a ladder. In the meantime I'll earn so I can afford the stuff I enjoy and dang the kids. :-))

With a few exceptions, you get what you pay for. The first-rate TS2018-19 DLC took a lot of work to create, Same fotr similar FltSim DLC. Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages.

I have been a Flight Simmer since the days of the Commodore 64 and still get into it occasionally today. I have MS FSX and also the Steam version. I might purchase one day in a JT/JF sale. The Vulcan is on of my favourite aircraft. I did purchase this one from Iris Simulations many years ago. http://www.irissimulations.com.au/ols/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=11

Actually I retired from the military 23 years ago, and am still running my consulting business, a horse stable, a few rental properties and a dog breeding business... so not really a pensioner either... but still - the comment sounded good at the time. :-)

I was only joking - I'm working though saving and planning to be able to retire earlier than many can - though it's still some way off. I'm conscious a lot of TS players are probably pensioners - good luck to them I say but I can't help being a bit jealous.

Just take a close up look at the exquisite detail in the cockpit and consider this. Every switch, dial, knob, lever and button, works and has a function. The complicated systems, will take many houres of pain/pleasure to master. The external animations are astounding.

And it flies!

Then compare it to the very best loco you can find.

It's expensive, but good value for money in comparison.

A definite Christmas present, (for me).

LOL - is ok to speak for me. I understand this comment well enough. hehe rofl.

Another spin on that for me ... is I'll typically use part of a pension loan to shore up my steam wallet and wait for a sale. I consider it as therpay. Put that one in your pipe and smoke that. hehe :P

It's 40 quid yes, but planes are far more difficult to model for than trains. In sims, at least.

Granted it's a lot but, if you do want a Vulcan for your flight sim' (and looking at this lovely angel of death why wouldn't you?) it's every Vulcan you could think of.

One could wish that trains were sold that way. To take a particularly bad example in TS if you want 60163 Tornado in all of the four liveries she has carried (including grey primer in testing) it's four purchases for one loco'! Even if the individual models were still available would it not be better to have a more expensive yes but much more comprehensive and useful pack representing all liveries? (Not to mention the 49 BR Peppercorn A1s for vintage scenarios.)

Eh, I think flight sim addons are well worth it. Ever seen PMDG or A2A?

And there are those that think A2A and PMDG prices are too high and well as those that see the price of a Train Sim DLC as a good value -- When will people learn that value is in the eye of the beholder and not the masses. So buy according to your desires.

(Just for the record - I have a lot of A2A aircraft and fly them all the time - don't fly tubeliners so PMDG look like great aircraft -but have no value for me. If you are into flying commercal jets -I am sure they are great)
