Help with General Design
Hello!
Reason I'm here is to ask for a bit of assistance from anyone who can help! I'm still fairly new to the game and don't have many actual building hours, or not productive ones, and would like a bit of feedback on an unfinished build that I just posted to the workshop, if you have the time of course. Here are the current details as of 06-03-20

Dimensions:
Width is 15 M
Length is 117 M
Height is 12 M
Total Volume is 2773
Cost: 78K resources

Present Armament:
Two 3 Gun Advanced Cannon turrets at 200 mm (undecided ammunition)

Planned:
Six single-barrel DIF Advanced Cannon secondary guns (50-100 mm)
Eight-Ten AA Guns (Either simple or 25-40 mm Belt Loader)
Possible 4 Torpedo Turret with 6-9 M long torpedoes (Explosive or EMP)

Other Info:
3 Large steam boilers as the engines, with 2 large crank shafts each with three 4 M pistons powering ONLY two 5 M propellers.
Engine Power at 50% Burn rate: 24.5K
Engine Power at 100% Burn Rate: Roughly 54K
Top recorded speed in tests: 27 M/S
I'm more than certain I have way too much engine power, but have no Idea what to do with it. I enjoy the idea of steam-powered propellers but have no idea if they're worth it considering everything at 100% burn rate burns roughly 20 resource per second. At 50% it does burn way less, but I havent tested how that impacts the speed since I only recently changed it to a three boiler setup. I also dislike the idea of shields, and while I admit they can be so effective, I personally think going without shields can be a bit more fun. Other notable features (rather lack of) would be that it currently lacks a lot of its secondary armament, has no detection, lots of empty space, no deck to speak of, but this is unfinished and still absolutely in the building phase. Any helpful advice would be appreciated, and the reason I come here is that more youtube guides I've found tend to be a decent bit outdated. The ones I did find, while helpful, I haven't gotten their methods down yet. Of course I would say by time spent building is only at 100 hours at most, so that might be expected. As I said, any help is welcome, much appreciated, and desperately asked for. If you do take the time to look at my build, really. Thank you. That's already a huge help.

This is the link to the ship in question. Please don't mind the silly name, I try to class my ships with real world classifications and couldn't decide which one fit better. I judged that based on the armament and lack of good armor it would probably be a Light Cruiser, but I feel like the cost might beg to differ.. and if you don't mind, please look at the engine and guns. Those are the few things I have a decent (half) idea of and I have no idea whether they're even half decent designs. Also as one more side note before I finish this full 5 page thesis, I did add 3 mainframes (each with their own name/designation) for when I eventually add more weapons.

Edit:
Almost forgot to add the fact that the amount of armor around the engine and the.. quirks I did with it is just silly. I tried to avoid layered armor to deter HEAT/HESH but have no idea if what I did is even practical in any universe
