zombiedaredevil has Rise of Nations: Extended Edition

window 10 direct X bug not letting game start.

After reading so many online solutions and after uninstall and install the game again I came to this conclusion that this game is not playable on window 10. Funny part is that game is also from microsoft. IF any one can help me here..

Game works fine on windows 10 here.
So that can not be the 'problem'. Not that it will solve yours.

Most of the times, its a pretty simple thing... eg.
How modern in your graphicscard? Have you updated the graphics drivers?
Have you restarted the computer? Have you quit steam and restart steam to let steam update?
Have you installed the Microsoft Visual C++ driver that came with the game?
etc.

Yes all of the above methods I tried in past. I am trying to play this game on steam from last few months and have done all the things told in forums.

so what happens, it doesnt start or crash after the movie?

I am having the same trouble. It was working in Windows 10 until the last update and now even with all the things zombiedaredevil mentioned, it still fails to start (the Rise of Nations Welcome menu pops up, but click on Play results in a BHG RTS run time ERROR box that says "Could not retrieve amount of display modes! [Click RETRY to debug, IGNORE to turn this message off and continue] Safe to ignore: UNLIKELY" Of the three buttons, Retry and Ignore do not work (you get a Rise of Nations has stopped working error), only Abort does.
