Mod to remove all Tier IV units
Hi. I making a mod to remove all tier IV units from the game. I will do it because I find it boring having all those Tier IV units roaming around in the late game.
The mod would not only remove units from the classes but also from the dwellings, so it would not be possible to create Tier IV dragons and giants anymore.
The only thing I cant decide is what to do with the Rogue class. They have both the Shadow Stalker and the Dark Pack upgrade. The Shadow Stalker is Tier III, but too overpowered. What should I do?
1) Leave as it is;
2) Remove Shadow Stalker, keep Dark Pact, lowering its cost.
3) Remove Dark Pact, keep Shadow Stalker, leaving the Stalker as it is.
4) Remove Dark Pact, keep Shadow Stalker, lowering the power of the Stalker.
5) Remove both
6) Another alternative...

I am inclined with option 2: No more Shadow Stalker but with Dark Pact for the other units.
What do you think?

I agree with your sentiment. I've been using mods that raise cost of all TIV spells/units, but looks like some of TIVs may have been missed. Could you please tell me how to locate all the TIV units and mod their costs (pretty sure they missed the Manticore Riders)? Also, how would you go about doing this for mods that add TIV (Chivalrous Intentions)? Would you just patch the new units in the same way? Thanks!

There is a mod that used to reduce how many Tier IV units the AI recruited, but it seems to have not been updated for a while and stopped working. Maybe if you ask the maker of that mod how to do that, it might be better than taking all Tier Iv's out of the game?

I do agree that Shadow Stalkers are OP even as a Tier III unit though. I'd certainly like to see a mod that at least gave Shadow Stalkers some vulnerabilities to (e.g spirit, fire and shock). All other elementals have some vulnerabilities, they should too.

I also agree with lvl 4's being a bit boring at the end. Suppose the game has to end some way though, and often the greatest production/ economy will win. Shadow stalkers are a bit closer to lvl 4 than 3 in terms of strength I'd say. I agree with the suggestions made earlier and suggest weakening them with for instance 20-40% fire and 20-40% holy weakness and/ or a resistance decrease of about 2 points. Keep in mind that making a unit weaker to certain effects will also increase it being affected by abilties so it works like a double-edged sword.
