A stable mod that lets me add more AI opponents?

Hi, I'm looking for a stable mod that lets me add more AI opponents and make the map larger. I've found a really good editor mod, but it doesn't say anything about adding additional players. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Impossible. Cannot add more than 8 players. Sadly a bit hard coded.

Thanks! I had one of those experiences where I "remembered playing" that mod, but I wasn't able to find it. Makes a lot more sense about why I couldn't find it now...
