I reckon that a pretty cool custom campaign idea would be to have a recreation (or as close to it as possible) of the HBS BattleTech game campaign.
I would try to put it together myself, but I wouldn't know where to begin. :(

Hell, even recreating some of the flashpoint missions and the "mini campaign" from that game would be pretty cool also.
