How to create mod to increse prices?

One of the first things I did in my X3 mods, was to increase the prices of all the ships (because money was easier to come by, and it added far more depth to the game).

I would like to know how to create a mod to increase the prices of all ships, weapons and components in this game? (Don't know anything about modding it yet - sounds like it's harder and more complex than x3!)

There are prices for the various ship hulls in \libraries\wares.xml, but i'm not sure if those are used as the ship prices in-game. Rather, i think that the prices result from the prices of the resources that go into building them. Could test by changing the resources that go into building the ships to see if that changes the ship prices.

Changing the resource prices would require economy balancing, though. The resource prices are also in wares.xml.
