Mods and the dlc campaign question

Hi. If I subscribe and activate a say new unit mod, would those units be playable and available if I start a completely new DLC/AO campaign from SCQ to 1943?

any changes to units will be active in the AO DLCs.

this can lead to surprises, since the AI units might be modified as well.
Playing any AO scenario with ships in it while the PC1 remake mod is active is a whole new show. ;)
