For the moment I recommend the following 2 official submods:
- 24 turn per yeah:
(at least for me, I find it more realistic, when moving around the map, generally it takes 1 year to travel from Rome to Spain, which makes no sense. Moreover now your characters have an importance, since they dont quickly die of old age, now you have to invest in them , protect them and if they die, you will sorely miss them.
- Garrison provide no negative points:
I found it incredibly stupid that garrisons in DEI would cause such massive public order debuffs.. A large army in the city is capable to repress and crush anybody who would rebel, public order should go up..
There is also an official submod that adds recruitable gladiators if you like, but after trying it, they just seem so weak and rout rather quickly.
Best thing is to go through the list of submods and think about them individually to tailor your own playstyle.
And music mods or compilation of music including old Rome total war tracks
