Is it possible to make a mod that hotkeys game speed?

Like... my dream is to be able to just press a key and have the game speed go up or down instead of having to go to the options menu to jump between "nothing is really happening right now and I want to ramp up production speed" to "oh no I am fighting on 3 different fronts and want to micromanage my units" but depending on the game engine that feels like it could be either trivially easy or literally impossible and I don't know enough about modding to know which one it is.

I heard it is indeed possible to add additional hotkeys, and the game speed itself is a game engine thing, not part of the mostly-black-box GlyphX part of the engine. So I guess it should be possible?

The game speed is handled by the GlyphX engine and the actual value is not transmitted to the game's dll. So we can't mod that without hacking the GlyphX engine.

Not sure why Petroglyph doesn't send the value to the dll because some stuff is meant to run at a normalized rate (like some animations) and all those are broken in the Remaster.

Hot keys for game speed should have been included by Petroglyph from the get go.
