Will mods corrupt my saves?
This might be kinda a dumb question but I just wanna make sure. Also, what directory are my saves kept under, so I can back them up if need be.

use mods at your own risk.
we can not guarantee that they wont cause issues with your game.

The default path for saved games is C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\kenshi\save or if the save in user folder option is disabled C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\save\

Thank you! Do mods usually load into previous saves or will I need to start over?
Kenshi has an import system, so if you change/add mods, you can force an update via the importing a save from the main menu.
you can keep playing your current save, just make sure and import it.
only time this is not possible is if you use custom character models. then you have to start a new game if you remove them.

The same applies to hair mods.
