It's difficult to say if you intend to learn the level editor or you require more options in the rmg settings. This mod above give slightly more stuff to the play around with.
The level editor itself can provide you a way to create scenarios and even campaigns without issue. Depends on creativity and have passionat you are about creating stuff from scratch. Randomly generated stuff in the level editor is possible but needs to be achieved through scripts and lua code which everyone is not so eager to learn.
I can certainly agree that aoe is better in this aspect but is a completely different type of game backed by a company and community that is way much bigger.
A map that is very creative and implement random stuff is fate of emerilia. But it's again something that breaks off from vanilla and depending on what you want.
