Need help with animating weapon in Serious Editor - weight and bone issue
I've been working on animating one weapon and stumbled upon nasty issues that have to do with weight maps and bones.

Say, I want to have a rifle's magazine to be animatable. First I select its polygons in Mesh editor and then create weight map, naming it "Mag". Then I create skeleton in Skeleton editor and then add a bone named "Mag". Now I can move this bone, and mag moves with it, so I can animate it, right?

However there are problems. I noticed that the mag mesh doesn't follow the bone properly: instead of having the same position relatively to the bone, it sort of lags behind. Another big issue is when I rotate the bone, the mesh deforms and shrinks along the rotation, instead of just rotating.

I don't know what's the core of the problem and how to solve it. I feel like I'm missing something. Can someone help me please? :steamsad: Thanks in advance :lunar2019smilingpig:

Is the magazine also weighted to anything else?

Yeah, it was, and I figured it out :smartsam: If you create a weight map for a mesh that's already part of another weight, it will still be weighted to it. Mag was weighted along with the whole weapon mesh, so when I deleted weight map for the gun itself and re-weighted it without including separate parts, they stopped deforming during animation :lunar2019grinningpig:

Thanks for help anyway :serioussam:
