Only 5 modded cars at a time appearing in game?
I have downloaded 20 cars and put them in the SteamingAssets/Cars folder since I have mixed results just leaving mods in the workshop folder. Whenever I'm in the game though, I only see 5 of those cars in the community body shop and car salon. Deleting and reinstalling the files only changes which 5 modded cars appear. I know the files for the cars themselves are good, so why are only some appearing while the rest don't show up? Is there some file I need to change that allows more modded cars to appear?

Cars spawning in various locations is completely random. So, no... you won't see 'all' your mods or specific cars you maybe hunting for... not all at once. Each trip to a location should be spawning a different group of cars each time... game just selects them randomly. Most likely, it's not an issue of if the game is registering all your mod cars... it most likely is if you are seeing any of them.

Back when CMS21 first released there was a limit of 5 manually installed mods. I never understood the reason for the limit and a lot of players were upset about it. Not sure if this has changed or not.

No I understand they won't all spawn in one location at the same time. I mean they simply aren't appearing in game. They aren't in the car showroom you can view from the menu that has the list of all the cars. They don't appear in the community car body shop either.

Was never aware of a hard limit... especially at only 5... for manually installed mod cars. I do have more than 5 and actually have all of them in my car collection. So, it would seem this limit of '5' mods probably isn't true... unless somehow having MelonLoader and QoL mod installed has broke the games limit of 5 mods? Cuz I do have those installed also.

@sportblort
Not sure what maybe happening in your installation of the game in regards to your manually installed mod vehicles... unless it's what Grimmslayer73 is talking about and somehow it's not affecting my install.

As an experiment, try moving a couple of the car mods out of the cars folder and see if some other ones start showing up afterward. You could do this multiple times to ensure each mod car is in fact showing up in the game... just with a limit of 5 maybe. If this is the case, maybe try going to Nexus and looking up the QoL mod... follow it's instructions for Melon Loader (0.5.7) and install those. Then check and see if you're still running into this hard limit of 5.

Edit: Ok... nevermind. I do in fact only have 5 actual mod cars installed. I was thinking I have more but, in reality, I just have a LOT of modded configs for the games cars... cuz I rework most of them in Car Editor to sort of 'fine tune' them... cuz I'm OCD like that, lol. Sorry for erroneous info regarding limit of 5 and QoL mod. There may in fact be a hard limit. I find that to be ridiculous if that's the case. Not sure why they'd do that. I did have a bunch of 'mod' cars installed manually in the CMS 2018 version. So, must be some kind of game engine limit in this version perhaps. If it's a limit to number of cars total, you could try deleting some of the games car folders for DLC you don't actually own. Cuz, they did it so you already have all the folders / files for DLC cars and they just don't get activated unless you purchased the DLC. Just something to experiment with maybe.

The manual mod cap is to prevent people who pirate the game from having the full game experience. Sadly you can find all the workshop mods and more on 3rd party websites that don't care how you get the game.
