My Map Editor Exp
Iv created over a dozen maps and counting now and heres some things that iv noticed. These may be known issues already but i thought id post about it anyways.

One thing to note is that i am aware that this feature is still only a few months old and still has many tweaks and fixes yet to come in following patches.

-Mirror units. i know for a fact the devs know the levels reset to 1, but sometimes the team colors do not change. an example would be that i mirror underlord green, then i have blue, red and yellow with not only level resets for minions but also they still belong to underlord green.

-Claimed Earth. This may be just a mere annoyance, but it took me a while to actually figure this out. If say, you have Green claimed earth (walls) by accident. i would change the faction back to terrain and reselect the earth to make it unclaimed again and then reselect the right faction that i wanted. There is a option in the Gold tab that allows you to quickly change the faction from one to another. Now wouldnt it be more simplified if you have earth selected and could just overwrite a faction with just another faction selected?

-Mirror Cores. This is really no big deal but sometimes when i mirror a core its never placed and just the earth is cleared out. This is just a matter of placing cores over the vacant earth.

-Mirror traps and doors. Now this is what irks me from time to time. i finish placing traps and doors on one quarter of the map (sometimes this happens with minions) and then mirror it. I look at the other 3 quarters and very little, if not nothing, has been placed.

-Water, Lava and Bridges. I have ran into this a great deal of times. Lets say i place water. I then place a bridge over the water. Then i relaize i dont like the layout of the bridge or simply just dont want it there period. I would then have to select lava and place it on every bridge section to get rid of it and then replace the water. Now if theres a better way of doing this and i have not figured it out yet, please let me know.

-Empire AI. This has been a topic of discussion for some time now. Manipulation of Empire units. Opposing AI underlords aside here lets just focus on the Empire. Myself and im sure a lot of other map editors have been craving to have some sort of control over what the Empire does in their scenarios or skirmishes. The fact that when you go up against the Empire in a scenario, wheather you win or lose the battle, you know that you will win the war. Now im not saying make every unit we spawn head straight to the core, but Hero Gateways COULD spawn the invading forces we need to keep players on their toes and tip the scales in favor of the AI for a challenge. Add in Hero Gate spawn timers and/or progressing to a certain point will trigger the Hero gate and spew out heros every now and then until claimed. Im sure the devs have thought of adding this or its in the making as i type this. Either way this would add a HUGE impact on how our maps are made and how enjoyable they are. This is not a problem, just an opinion more less.

-Re-sizing map within the editor. This is a mere suggestion, but there has been countless times i have to redo a map when i realize that its to small for my design. If its way too big, then i just fill in what i dont use with imp rock.

But aside from a few non critical bugs, i love the map editor! i play it more then the actual game itself. Keep it up Devs! :)
