i couldnt get it to work tho? I tried opening console and doing /onslaught as well as typing it into chat

First of all you have to install the required additional mods,

...to be able to play with it later in the "Modded Realm".

"Vermintide Mod Framework" must be at the top of the launcher,
then "Onslaught" and whatever else you need...

oh so you cant play online with others?

You can play in Modded Realm; anyone who has the same mods installed can play.
It is best to use/make a search query/request for fellow players here in the forum in
"Looking for Groups" sector.
