Trials of Mute City exists... Why not more "F-Zero"-themed Workshop levels?
I'm just going to state this openly, right at the beginning: The subject matter of it is the biggest reason why Trials of Mute City by FZeroMan is one of my favorite Workshop levels in this game.

And that's got me thinking: Why aren't there other F-Zero-themed levels for this game? Why isn't there a "Trials of Big Blue" where you race over and under the surface of a vast ocean? Why isn't there a "Trials of Port Town" with elements from all the Port Town courses throughout the F-Zero series? Why isn't there a "Trials of Sand Ocean" where you race through a vast desert?

I guess my nostalgia's doing all the talking here. But I'd really like to see if these and other tracks based on the F-Zero Grand Prix could be brought to life in Distance.

Also, if someone wanted to try their hand at custom vehicle creation, I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to translate the Blue Falcon into this game. I can already see how flight would work for it: The two vertical panels on the craft on the far right and left sides, just have them fold down into a horizontal position to become wings. Maybe have vertical stabilizers pop up aft of the cockpit, over the engine exhausts.

The game doesn't allow for custom vehicle models.

Not to mention that one does not simply create an Fzero themed track just like that. It involves creating tons of custom artwork!

In due time my man. I plan on creating alot of stuff from F-Zero for distance. Alot of the designs you see are custom made by me spending hours upon hours of work. Trails of mutecity is a blend of mutecity tracks from every f-zero, including mario kart 8's mutecity!
You can follow me @fzeroman on twitter, Im always posting updates. currently im working on a kidof trails of lightning. The halfpipe is the current big task im undertaking. My youtube.com/fzeroman also has previews of lightning, i just got the look of rain in the level without any massive fps drops.
There are other levels from fzero in distance.
Have you tried red canyon atrition or lightning devided falcon. theres also a creepy death wind with gravity that pushes you.

If only there were a way to see what levels I'm subscribed to...

Let's just say that I've played all of the currently released levels you just listed. And I loved them all.

That link will only work for you, if you're logged in. Other people can't see that list, only you can see your subscribed workshop items.

I guess people prefer making new things that take advantage of the art assets in distance instead of rehashing old stuff in hacky ways that take forever to make and don't usually end up looking that good. I know I fall into the former camp.

I fall inbetween. Sometimes i prefer a mashup of old while having fun creating new assets. I think "Trails Of Big Blue" im gonna start on pretty soon,Newest experimental build really optimizes the objects and ive even added a few things back to "Trails Of Mutecity" soo once the experimental update is a stable build youll be able to see that sweet Captain falcon banner again:)
