After playing Bannerpage, the OG Diplomacy, Floris Expanded, Tocan's Calradia and many more, I have now come to the conclusion that Diplomacy 4. Litdum is the best version of all these mods. It feels very immersive and makes base game units feel more balanced. The enhaced tournamet system is fixed and now when you are high level all your competitors cant one shot you for 100 dmg, I like the changes to lords changing cultures to the player's chosen faction culture as well.

The optional recruiting system is thematically very cool since early game feels like you are actually a mercenary warband and not a wanabee lord. You recruit farmers and they can become mercenary units which makes it a bit more interesting.

Combat AI actually feels smarter, like when I was using a lance enemies wouldnt just pursue me in a straight line and would try and give themselves a better angle of attack, they block more often so it doesnt just become block+attack+block+attack, so you need to think about your timing a bit more.


The addition of ships and naval battles is interesting, I like the custom banner system, the scenes in battles are very nice looking, Castles have mini villages in them, formation AI and etc.

Overall its a great experience and weirdly I was always putting off playing it till recently and Im glad I finally got around to trying it out.
