You can also use a deconstructor to get back everything.
If you're looking for a custom scenario to do this, why not make your own that does? Would take like 5 minutes of work on your end.
Using the recover blocks mode of the master tool the only thing I don't get back whole is a core in Vanilla
And playing Star Salvage they even have a core that you can pick back up
If I build something in the constructor that I no longer need that I can stick most things back into the deconstructor to reclaim all the parts
Just use "recover" to pick up all the other blocks, then salvage the core. The core it's self is the only thing you lose. (You do need a Multitool.)
You never get back all salvage, because it is damaged stuff. And, if you remove your core first, then the rest is automatically salvage.
It is also good to look at existing blueprints other people have made to get ideas.
I generally never play creative mode in games except in this case.
