can i get someone to look over this mod list to help me figure out which one is stopping me for equipping melee weapons that aren't fists?

all of them are from the workshop, i have one more mod but i was having this issue before i got it so it wasn't that.
Do you have the Solaris DLC?

Aren't "melee weapons" exclusive to a number of specific mech variants that have been introduced by Call to Arms DLC (and Solaris)? All the other variants can only equip "improved limbs".

oh... i have to use very specific mechs for the actual melee, well that sucks, is there a mod to fix that?

it really doesn't - melee is WAY OVERRATED and not really that interesting

i mean, maybe, sure, but i was looking forward to having melee, and kinda pissed i have to hunt down specific varients that can actually equip anything other than fists, i had been making fists work well enough, but i wanted to mix it up a bit.

I would advise NOT to give melee mechs to your lancemates

k? why not? and does it have something to do with the massive glitch i had today where i finally got a hatchet man mech and kitted it out but going into 3rd person put the camera under the map and blew it up.

Well full disclosure - I HATE melee on mechs and the vast majority of the melee mechs that are available are non-canon.

The practical problem is that the AI will close to the range of the shortest ranged weapon equipped - the melee weapon. This will expose your lancemates to heaps of fire and damage.

The 'description' of the exploits of the Hatchetman (forever now referred to as the Hassan-Chop) in the printed, bound & published toilet paper are NOT repeatable in game and should never be aspired to.

For Heaven's sake just use some, LRMs, Large Lasers PPC's or SRMs & Mediuum Lasers or if you are totally desperate there are ballistics

The 'novels' written about the game have an surrealistic scenario with a damaged Hassan-Chop with no ammo for its auto-cannon and holding of heaps of Clan mechs

that sounds kinda hilarious ngl, but nah i wasn't going for that, i just wanted big mech with big sword or axe, kinda wish i could get a photon sword like gunam but any sword would've been fine, it just sucks that the one mech i got that could equip a melee weapon proper is glitched out so hard that it i can't even use the melee and it dies shortly after spawning
