Simple Level Editor? (the talos principle perpetual testing initiative)
What about a level editor like portal 2 has?
The blank map is just an empty environment with a flat surface.
You just need to place walls, lasers, hexahedra and all the other stuff and your map is done!
I don't know, how complicated the "connection" between objects are (for example a door opens when the laser hits the laser catcher).
But if this is possible somehow, it would just make the game even more awesome as it is right now!

The not-so-simple editor can do that too, but it requires some work. I may do something about it once my current project is completed.

You mean you would create a resource map, where thinks has only to be copy-pasted?

I know nearly nothing about modding for the serious engine. so sorry if the question is stupid.
I would like to mod something for the Talos game. Will try in the next days the SE3.5 Tuts.

Support, I think effort should be made to design new game editor with more user friendly GUI because there is so much potential in user created maps to extend game value and durability

But like in Portal 2, the Hammer Editor Maps will be always the more advanced maps.

As it should be, really. Once you've found out how to do things in the proper editor you can really make some stunning puzzles and worlds, especially if you don't use the in built mesh editor and use a more specialised tool like Blender to create your models..
