Dynasty Modding

Hello,

I'm currently working on a mod for CK2 and I'm trying to create dynasties for it. However, when I try to assign characters to the dynasty and load it up in game, it instead randomly a generates a dynasty in accordance with their cultural naming system, alongside a randomly-generated coat of arms. Nothing changes no matter what I try. I'm very new to modding, so there's a very good chance that I'm just being an idiot, but I've done everything the dynasties modding page on the CK2 Wiki said and I think it should be working.

Any assistance appreciated.

For character and the dynasty part, maybe you got the brackets wrong and one too many or so. Another potential issue can be the id number being too low in both cases.
An ID in the range of four millions should be fine.

Regarding the characters, i'll assume you added the respective "dynasty=" line and that the culture is identical between character and assigned dynasty..

Here's how I create my custom dynasties.

-In the common folder create a folder called dynasties and place a text document. This will be your base to build your dynasties from.

-To get the dynasties name and coat of arms I usually create the dynasty in-game and copy the code from a compressed save. Copy that to your text document in your dynasties folder.

-To add a character to the dynasty you have created, add dynasty='The number you put as your dynasty.'
