Mod: Sir Henry of Semine
Short: Reward Henry with a knighthood for his service, and receive Semine as a gift from the king himself. Henry can have his own colors and banner, and maybe get a squire too, which he can choose instead o Mutt. Rosa can be there as well, and Henry can build for her a nice library. The horse breeding facility at Semine should bring some passive income, and maybe Henry can have a shop nearby where he can sell the weapons that he is making himself, with that nice MJ (Tier 4) logo on them.

Long: Rosa's father, Sir Kunzlin Ruthard, told Henry that anyone can buy a knighthood by purchasing an estate or a castle. That's precisely how he did it himself.

According to ChatGPT, it would have cost Henry in the early 1400's Eastern Europe, around 10k Groschen to buy a large estate or a small castle, and become a minor Lord. This didn't necessarily come with a knighthood, but in Henry's case it should have, since he was a true war hero who saved the realm, as well as countless Lords from captivity or even death. He's also the bastard son of a Lord who recognized him.

There is simply no way that he wouldn't have been rewarded with a knighthood by the King himself. It was common practice for the King to gift some of his castles and estates as reward to those who deserved it, and in return he would have also received that Lord's perpetual support.

Nevertheless, it would have cost Henry 20k+ Groschen to buy a large castle by himself, which would have come with a guaranteed knighthood.
By the end of the playthrough, I bet everyone has at least 20k Groschen and a chest full of Tier III weapons, armors, clothes, jewelry, as well as silver and gold valuables.

So there is simply no logical way for the story to end as it did! Anyway you look at it, Henry should have been a knight - either as a reward from the King for the service of saving the realm and his royal seat, or simply by buying the title himself.

I like this idea and have already thought about it. I thought it was a shame at the end of kcd1 that henry wasn't knighted. I was even more disappointed at the end of kcd2 because it didn't make sense to me. In purely historical terms, it's actually overdue 🤣

I hope someone in the modding community takes it on.
I would even pay for it to be honest hahaha
I dunno about 10k Groschen cause Hans Capon paid 50,000 Groschen for a wedding dowry. 10k for a decent house maybe. but not a fortress.

The issue with Semine is that Semine still lives there unless you sell him out to Von Bergow, in which case, Von Bergow still controls that area and would certainly not mind coming down there with a few dozen men to burn it down around Henry's ears.

I think we'd need to find an unoccupied area who's owner we're friends with... what about rebuilding Zimburg?

Restored Zimburg would be cool

OK, it makes sense. In this case, we stick to the in-game value of the Groschen, and the price of a castle can be 100,000. I’m sure most players have this amount in cash and loot by the end of the game anyway.

Though, historically, the Kings of Europe gifted castles and estates to those who helped the crown retain or expand its power. In our case, Henry is long overdue for a knighthood and a decent estate. King Wenceslaus can make this happen, and we can have our DLC.

In KCD 1 we have the “From the Ashes” DLC which was beloved and we have the mechanics there. I am currently replaying KCD and managing Pribyslavitz is my favorite part of the game. I just wish the DLC was much bigger!

We can also have this as a mod. I wouldn’t mind Pribyslavitz or any of the existing castles or estates, as long as we can expand them into something more imposing. Modders can use the voices and the dialogues between Henry and Marius

Or Skalitz. :lunar2019sleepingpig:

Or Sir Ruthard Kunzlitz’s castle in Kuttenberg. Henry can marry Rosa and purchase the castle from her father.

There’s also a nice property close to Sir Ruthard’s castle, that has great potential. It can be upgraded, have a palisade or stone walls built in front of it, have a nice gatehouse added, and it would make sense too since there is currently consolidation work for the walls going one. Right behind this fortified house there is another building being constructed (foundation level) which can be used as barracks, and next to it there are even stables, which seem to belong to noone.

Maybe they’ll make this available to purchase in an upcoming DLC.

Skalitz is out of the question as it is burned down and still belongs to Radzig. And we dont have the Rattay Region in the game to my knowledge.

Semine is also out of the question, as it belongs either to the semines or is burned down to the ground.

Ruthard's Kuttenberg Castle belongs to Ruthard and is not really a castle. Its a City Palace, as Kuttenberg is essentially a "free" or kingly city, so belongs directly to the king and would not make any one anything while holding that "castle".

The Zimburg technically belongs still to Lillians family, and would ensure beef with them. Also the most ruined of all castles, there is basically not a single stone remaining in place and would be needed to be rebuild for the next 50-100 years. To long for a play run.

Trosky Castle is to big and important, and while Bergow is a traitor and fled with Sigismund to Hungary but would make Henry essentially a Duke with all the land and important position.

Maleschau would be oke, technically belonging to the Ruthards, but they still hold other lands, it is ruined but not utterly and after romancing Rosa, with Ruthard not having a male heir. Perhaps with the implication of Henry marrying her... Maleschau would not be to important, to ruined and kinda central. It has a village with some people, if the player has not burned it down. And if rebuilding it would entice a certain game play loop.

Also in the end of the story both Hanusch and Radzig refer to Henry as Capons Squire, not his bodyguard. Which implies him earning a knighthood sooner or later.

So as long as a future DLC doesnt add the Rattay Region back in, which would be missed opporunity. Maleschau it is?

its a shame that saving semine is basically skipping content, and there is zero reactivity if you go back to trosky that you stopped von bergow from killing them all.
