CEP 2 (Community Expansion Pack)

Description
CEP 2.71
+ CEP 1 (Complete)

The Community Expansion Pack (CEP) is a large hak pak collection of free, community-made custom content. Most of the included material comes from content previously posted on the Neverwinter Vault sites by independent users. Additional content has come from contributors to the Custom Content Challenge, several updates from Project Q and other content developed specifically for the CEP. Included content is organized to function properly together, with necessary updates made to models, scripts, and .2da files. The CEP is intended to be a "universal" download - players can download this single package to access a large number of modules and persistent worlds that otherwise would have each required their own individual downloads.

Builders using the CEP for their module have the option of selecting which CEP content appears in-game. Content from the CEP does not override default Neverwinter Nights content, nor does it affect modules that don't specifically use the CEP. The Community Expansion Pack has been very successful over the years, and many long-term players have found the CEP to be as vital to Neverwinter Nights as the official BioWare expansion packs.

This download includes both the current CEP 2 (used for any module build with 2.x) and CEP 1 (used for playing older modules built with CEP prior to version 2).

While the page here may show the file size as 2GB, the actual download is about 8 GB.

If you are playing a non-Steam version of Neverwinter Nights, you'll still need to download and install the CEP normally, and can find it here:

N.B. In future, please post comments & queries on the Vault page:
https://neverwintervault.org/cep
as I am standing down and the other members of the team aren't on Steam.

@NotForMe I checked the archived versions - CEP has never had a file called cep2_add_skies2.hak (not in 2.4, nor at any other time). Also check the NWN Omnibus (an archive of many forums) - no one ever mentioned that file before. My best guess is that someone added a custom file to the server in question.

cep2_add_skies2 is missing from this version of the pack, as well as the version that's on the vault.

Server owner claims that CEP 2.71 is all they are using, and other people can connect, but when I try I get a missing .hak error.

Is it possible that a previous version of cep 2.4 had .haks which are not compatible and or available in the current download?

Thank you so much!

Crimson Tides of Tethyr doesn't use CEP.

Many modules do, though. To play them, you need to install CEP. The module page will tell you that it's a Required Item (on Steam) or a Required Project (on Neverwinter Vault). You only have to install it once, which makes all those modules downloads smaller.

Curated modules are an exception - they do download everything they require, but you still need to install CEP to play modules which aren't curated (the vast majority).

Ah ok, so i won't need it then right, when for example i'm playing Crimson Tides of Tethyr it already downloaded the needed models?

CEP is only useful to players when playing modules that require it.

Does this mod have any use for people that play modules only and don't build their own? Like for instance can i use the models and weapons from here with the Customize Character Override HAK mod? Just curious because i'd love more content to play with!
