Reimagined CK3 - Confidant Trait (Spouse/Vizier)

Reimagined CK3 Series

Description
A Reimagined CK3 series that focuses on creating modular addons that improve player agency, the impact of their choices and makes the “world” feel more alive. These mods will initially more often come as singular traits/decisions/events that will then be expanded on and focus on personality / lifestyle / fame and other traits expanding into events and decisions as I gain experience.

UPDATED

INCLUDES ADDITIONAL GAME RULES TO VARY XP GAIN:
Under Category: "Confidant Trait XP Gain"

Confidant Trait for your Spouse/Vizier

This adds a 4 stage trait to any rulers Spouse/Vizier (NOT Concubines). Over time they will gain access to additional stats and thematic bonuses as they act as your trusted Confidant.

This affects all "Title Tiers" i.e. County / Duchy / Kingdom / Empire

E.g.
Track Rank 1
1 additional to all stats
+5 Spouse Opinion

Track Rank 2
1 additional to all stats (2 total)
Additional Prestige / Piety / Renown multiplier

Track Rank 3
1 additional to all stats (3 total)
+5 Spouse Opinion (10 total)

Track Rank 4
1 additional to all stats (4 total)
Additional Prestige / Piety / Renown multiplier

The Trait and Experience for it is assigned randomly at a point across the year (so you could "miss" it) and will normally trigger after they have spent some time in the Spouse/Vizier role. The amount of experience has some randomness to it, so your first spouse may not level up like your next and your neighbours may be "Rank 3" while yours in "Rank 0" still - perhaps trade up? XD

***It's expected to take anywhere from 5-10 years for all trait levels to unlock.***

Check out the accompanying Thematic Councillor Trait
Which I will include the link to soon, this is slightly different as XP is periodically assigned based on the Councillor Task being completed, so you won’t “miss” the window if you assign them part way through the year.

Affects: Player/AI

Compatibility: High
It adds additional files while not making any changes to the existing ones.

@Thegrinch Would it be okay to release an updated version of this?

Whats the difference between your mods and better crusader kings?

@Gerorge Oh that all sounds awesome. Your mod inspired me to update my own so we both can flesh out the mechanics of having spouses. Lets gooo!

keep it up man, really love the work

@Ranger longer term the hope is yes, it'd be nice to have stuff like having children, having them act as regent, wars etc all add small amounts of XP (to imply their "help/guidance" on these matters and progression of their skills) along with triggered events

it's becoming a bit to look after and learn is all XD

Yes it should be save game compatible as the "checks" are run yearly and not on startup/character generation etc
Ranger 27 Mar, 2024 @ 3:16pm
Also is this save game compatible?

Hey @George this is a great idea for a mod. Will there be events surrounding this as well?
Thegrinch  [author] 24 Mar, 2024 @ 11:04pm
@Emyr I dont believe that would fall within the scope of this mod.

However, that is something you could certainly look to create and could be done. You'd probably use the same "random_yearly_everyone_pulse" action to trigger it all and then have that there is a limit requiring them to be "Zealous" "whatever else you want" and that if so it then add_trait = whatever_trait_you_want

is it possible, to give a character who is zealous (and maybe has other traits like Theologian) the "missionary" trait which allows neighboring unreformed faith rulers to convert to a neighboring religion far cheaper? Would that be too overpowered?
