Sayl the Faithless - Dolgan
  • Trickster: Can trick even the Chaos Gods by bartering earned favour for powerful mortal units.
  • Pact with the deciever: May trick enemy defeated generic lords in to bartering their flesh. Targets turn into chaos spawn on success.


''King'' Adella of the Thousand Mouths - Skeggi
  • A Jungle Corrupted: Construct Chaos Monoliths and corrupt and recruit unique Lizard beasts.
  • The Hoarder: Adella is aided by the Legendary Seer Soren the Hoarder as a legendary hero.


Akkorak the Crow - Kul
  • The Wasteland Reaver: Akkorak may breed and use chaos steeds to upgrade horseback units.
  • Legendary Knight: Akkorak the Crow attracts Chaos Knights eager to challenge him on horseback.


Birna the Huntress - Sarl
  • Legendary Huntress: May revisit completed Monster Hunts on winning battles against cultures matching with the culture of defeated monsters.
  • Marsh Dwellers: Sarl is known for traversing the Salt Marshes of the Troll Country to collect timber and hunt river trolls.
  • Hunters: A new unique unit type in the form of archers: The Sarl Hunters stalk the salt marshes of the Kalti Delta.


Drenok Johansen - Icefang Tribe
  • Icefang Monolith: Unique bonuses for building and battling in regions with a frozen climate.
  • Corrupted Ice: May recruit unique glacial units for obtaining victories in regions with a frozen climate.


Einarr Sigdansson - Baersonling Tribe
  • Vinnskor's Revenge: Reclaim the lands of the Baersonling to unlock a unique Regiment of Renown and a Legendary Hero.
  • Tzeentch's Champion: Lords may devote themselves to Tzeentch and ascend as Lords of Tzeentch.


Surtha Ek- Varg
  • Embrace of Chaos: The Varg are especially prone to mutations and chaos corruption: Fallen marauders may mutate in Chaos Spawn after battling in regions with high corruption.
  • Everchariot: Embark on a journey to proof your might as the Everchariot by razing Khemri.


Hakka the Aesling - Aesling
  • Devoted to Khorne: Has access to several mechanics tied to Khorne.
  • Skraevold Tribe: Has access to two legendary heroes who find their origin in the Skraevold Tribe.


Harald Whyrlas - Graeling
  • The Unifyer: Harald Whyrlas aims to subdue all Northern Tribes and crown himself as the King of Norsca through various unique missions.
  • The Sea Maiden: Has access to a Legendary Hero, Verdandi Sea-Maiden as well as a unique Regiment of Renown from Fjirgard.


Huern the Wolf - Tribe of the Wolf
  • Lord of the Pack: Joined by his hulking twin sons, Huern can recruit a unique generic lord type with a selection of horde buildings.
  • Hunting Journeys: Venture out across the world to bring down certain foes and unlock powerful bonuses.


Sargath the Vain - Yusak
  • Champion of Slaanesh: May sacrifice devotees to obtain powerful Gifts from Slaanesh.
  • Drummer of Pleasure: Has a unique legendary Hero, Zar Uzelek with a unique drummer archetype.


Ulfric Grondal - Bjornling
  • Way of Men: The Bjornling prever the ways of Men over the ways of Chaos: May invoke the gods of Kislev and has improved relations with human factions.
  • Skjold's Destiny: Has two unique legendary heroes as well as a unique fishing campaign mechanic, where fish is bartered with friendly factions.
  • Unique new unit type: The Bjornling Huscarl with a unique shield wall ability.


Beorg Bearstruck - Ursfjordings
  • The Bearstrikken son of Bran sets out to sink his chaos-touched claws into the mortal realms of men.
  • Bearstrikken: Ursine creatures are drawn to the primal essence of Urslo and may be corrupted.
  • Oerl the Young: The Legendary Hero Oerl the Young is available from turn 1.


High Jarl Geimdall - Oseberg Shieldclan
  • Warrior General of the Bjornling Huscarls, Geimdall is the right hand man of Ulfric Grondal.
  • Send raiding parties to Kislev to influence the outcome of the conflict between the Ice Court and Orthodoxy.

There are plenty of amazing mods out there that alter Norsca. We aimed for maximum compatibility and had the chance to incorporate some amazing mods into TotN. For others, we tried most mods worked together seamlessly.

Incorporated Mods
The following mods are built in TotN. Enabling both mods will thus cause a crash and is not needed.
  • WH2: Northmen of the New World
  • Savage Hunters: The Tribe of the Wolf
  • Legendary Surtha Ek for WHIII Beta

Overlapping Mods
Not all mods will function correctly. Mods that alter the following will likely be incompatible
  • Mods that completely overhaul the game like SFO, Radious
  • Mods that reskin the generic variants of all Norscan units
  • Mods severely alter the factions that were edited by TotN.

I'm also unable to battle confederate a few lords as Bjornlings. For example. I've defeated hakka multiple times (even destroying all his armies) and can't confederate.

The only other option you really have is to wait for the AI to target somebody else and snatch their settlement while they're gone. The World Walkers are the only faction that regularly does this, though, and they are not an enemy you can realistically beat without getting extremely lucky or cheesing the hell out of the battle ai.

I do really like their premise and flavor of optionally becoming friendlier with the Empire factions. Maybe a custom Beast Compendium or something that doesn't require them to raid and pillage the Empire for the fun toys would make them stand out in the Norscan lineup.

I feel like bjornling might be just a tad bit too difficult a start. You border two very strong and aggressive factions, and the third (friendlier) border will almost certainly be confederated by the World Walkers in the first ~10 turns.

Having your army be so isolated and unable to capture nearby settlements (especially on the very hard difficulty), and having no way out of your spawn, means you have to wait for the enemy to come attack your gates, manually win the battle, and do so without taking any serious damage in your Lord's army so that you can counter-attack and hit the garrison and half-sized army the AI has inevitably built up between the rounds it takes to travel to their settlements... all on tier 1 and maybe tier 2 melee units.

The Bjornling start is straight up a grind. I would move the starting army fight closer to Pack ice bay, because it takes a minimum 5 turns to get to it from where mr Grondal starts now. Which makes the campaign a literal End Turn Button pressing Simulator.

Also The Bjornling fishing stance Removes the Forced march stance option in water, if this is on purpose ok, if not It really also makes the water transport into a harsher grind.

When playing with TOTN and Stratovarius' Rotblood tribe mod, the regular Norsca heroes of TOTN factions get replaced with Rotblood ones for recruitment. Noticed while playing Sayl, wondering if anything can be done? If not, just a note for compatibility. Love this mod!

Hi! Could you increase the quantity of Bearman of Urslo (RoR) up to 5 or, better, make a basic version that can be hired in limited numbers, like a Bulwark of Skjold (RoR) and regular Huskarls for Bjornlings. Sub-mod maybe? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I cannot confederate with egil from combat as the bjornlings.
