This mod introduces hostile (NPC) bandits into the game. Please be aware that the enemies in this mod are extremely dangerous, and provide an extent of challenges. Treat them as actual players when it comes to combat. You will need to relearn how to survive.

Bandit Spawning
Initially, a small groups of armed individuals with melee weapons appear in the world. Over time, much larger groups armed with handguns and rifles will arrive to take your head. In multiplayer on the other hand, this happens independently for each player. Newer players will have more so simple bandits attacking them, whereas long term players will have stronger bandits attacking them.

Bandit Customization
Some general customization is done via sandbox settings just like for any other mods.

Customization of bandit looks, weapons and spawn settings is now controlled by Bandit Creator which is a separate mod you need to subscribe to in order to make changes.

What you need to know about v2 version
  • Besides killing you, bandits can steal items from you base, sabotage your generators, vehicles or crops.
  • Bandits can destroy things: obstacles and furniture blocking their way, destroy doors and windows, destroy or remove barricades, naturally they can also simply open doors or gates.
  • They can have different extra traits which determine their extra skills
  • They carry different loot depending to their profession and skills
  • They will resupply with weapons or ammo from dead corpses and containers nearby.
  • Some of them rarely may bite you as a recently infected desperate individuals.
  • They don't know where you are until they see you or until they hear you.
  • They can shoot all weapons, including shotguns, revolvers or rifles with scopes, weapon range depends on weapon now.

Troubleshooting
There are no bandits
Do not turn off zombies in your world completely. Otherwise Bandits will not spawn. Turning off zombie respawn is ok.
Their spawning has a large random factor. But if they don't spawn for 5-7 consecutive days then something may be wrong.

IThere is too many bandits
Use Bandit Creator mod to tune the right amount for you.

Does bandits just spawn and roam around since we start playing the map or they act as a raider that only spawn a raid day that they will attack us and we kill them or they escape and dissappear. If they start roaming since we started the world then its bad becouse it causes a lot of lag in my gameplay. Fps drops etc. which I have it and I dont have it when I didnt load bandits mod.

if both bandits and banditslegacy are combined to make the bandits day one/week one mod work while using the bandits creator mod, does it not cause problems since it does allow you to combine them in modoptions?

Hey I have a very random question. I did not see this mod on the list with compatibility ones.

Horde Night mod that spawns in zombies, so it does samething as the bandits in a way. Can adjust it in sandbox settings to be different nights. Would this mod be able to sync with yours?

If you can scare them and drive them away with hand a gun (even a gun without bullets), it would be too easy

After all, these bandits will not communicate with you at all. When they find you, they only think about how to kill you. This is the high difficulty experience brought by this mod.

i kind of dislike how just purely aggressive a person could be running at me with a hammer when i am on the other side of the street with a fucking shotgun i would hope this guy would see it and just run away but he doesnt at all? is he supposed to?

bandits pathfinding seems kinda broke rn, they usually just run at walls until something triggers them out of it.
Any companions i get just die because they wont stop running into a wall endlessly.

game freezes after few days , renderer is the issue most of the time based on the logs, lazy shitty work of the game devs obviously (they constantly breaking things that worked previously and nobody needs to change them but hey they are idiots so nothing new) . there is no point to play this game without this NPC mod since its just garbage. ill probably get back to this game when v 42 is fully stable and released what a fucking waste of my time.
