The Abigail Williams Class

A mysterious girl from Salem, who can flexibly switch between the roles of supporter and damage dealer according to situations, and recharge NP Guage to use two powerful Noble Phantasms. Establish a bond with her, understand the secrets behind her, and help her overcome the shadow from the past.

Warning:
This mod is extreamly complex and have many special mechanisms, which make it very different from most Darkest Dungeon mods on installation requirements.
Please read the following contents very carefully and strictly follow the guidelines for installation and gameplay, otherwise the game will crash!

The Abigail Williams Class mod has ONE main mod and FIVE optional patches, they are the follows and should be sorted according to the following position:
- Abigail Williams English Dialogue Patch
(the english dialogue patch, should be higher than the base voice & dialogue patch)
- Abigail Williams Chinese Dialogue Patch
(the chinese dialogue patch, should be higher than the base voice & dialogue patch)
- Abigail Williams Base Voice & Dialogue Patch
(the base voice & dialogue patch, should be higher than the main mod)
- Abigail Williams Old Version Hymm Rollback Patch
(the hymm skill rollback patch, should be higher than the main mod, and MUST NOT be enabled together with the vanilla weaken patch)
- Abigail Williams Vanilla Weaken Patch
(the vanilla weaken patch, should be higher than the main mod, and MUST NOT be enabled together with the hymm skill rollback patch)
- The Abigail Williams Class
(the main mod, exactly the one on this workshop page, and should be higher than almost ANY other mod)

Note: please sort the priority position of the main mod above at least the following types of other mods:
(1)other mods that have modified the heirloom exchange interface
(2)other mods that have modified the guild levelup interface
Since this mod has these priority restricts and is downward compatible on most mechanisms, if you are not familiar with Darkest Dungeon coding, we might recommend you to sort this mod "ABOVE ALL OTHER MODS".
#2024-12-19 update: no longer modify "gatekeeper" or require COM ("color of madness") DLC.

Besides, We strongly recommend you to install the "Abigail Williams Base Voice & Dialogue Patch" for best gameplay experience.

Please make sure that you have corecctly installed the Darkest.exe Fix Patch made by "局外人":
"DarkestEXE_Fix_windows_x64_for_Build_26186 (暗黑地牢主程序修复补丁64位对应26186版本 by 局外人).7z"
You can find this "Darkest.exe" Unofficial Fix Patch in the folder of The Abigail Williams Class.
You can also find this "Darkest.exe" Unofficial Fix Patch in the following Steam guide:
"Mod Limit CTD : Four Types of Overflow"
This main program fix patch has fixed many bugs and mod limit overflows in DarkestDungeon. For more details, see Readme in the patch file.
Warning: Abigail Williams mod MUST install the "Darkest.exe" Unofficial Fix Patch, otherwise it will CRASH.

#2:
The official commandline "-disable_monster_pre_loading" is no longer needed under 64-bit environment.

#3:
The parameter "max_resource_entries" of the resource entry file "DarkestDungeon\shared\resource_manager.setup" is 32768 by default under 64-bit environment, thus please just keep it as 32768, or slightly enlarge it to NOT ABOVE 90000 as appropriate.

Some special features are detailed in in-game Glossary of ESC menu (after installing this mod).
Please do NOT quit game when in combat while playing Abigail Williams, otherwise many mechanism might lose effectiveness.
If you have encountered savefile permanent soft-lock, please use SaveEditor to force returning to hamlet: "DarkestDungeonSaveEditor by robojumper" -- you can find this powerful tool on Github.

#1:
Please do NOT open Abigail's character page when you are viewing her skill upgrade page in the guild, otherwise the game will crash due to the overflow of text length.

#2:
Please try to avoid using any external injection programs as much as possible, such as game modifier or cheater:
Do NOT use the "Infinite Item" cheat of "Flingtrainer" (or at least do not activate the "Infinite Item" cheat when using any of Abigail's skills, including out-of-combat skills), and use its Speedup function with caution.
Do NOT use "GMD Speed Time" tool under any circumstances and avoid using "CheatEngine" as much as possible. If you need to accelerate the game's combat speed, please go to Steam workshop and find "x2 Combat Speed" or other similar acceleration mods.
Please try to avoid using Background Overclocking Software and Debug Recording Software (including Dbgview) while playing Abigail, as they might slow down the workaround response speed and cause significant game lag when using Abigail's skills.

#3:
Please do NOT use the Noble Phantasm "Faraway Dreamlands" during Baron's battle (Baron is a boss from official DLC crimson court), otherwise Abigail Williams might be forced to transform into Baron's cocoon (which is treated as being killed instantly) when Baron uses "change to curtain".

Please do NOT use any "True Damage" skills to kill the pyre during Abigail's Bond battle, otherwise the game might crash.

#5:
Please do NOT use the Noble Phantasm "Faraway Dreamlands" during the ending battle of "Non-Endlessly Endless Quest" while the quest is about to complete, otherwise Abigail might get lost in Dreamlands (which treated as death) when the quest completes, EXCEPT the Miller (it's always safe to use "Faraway Dreamlands" when facing vanilla Miller).
"Non-Endlessly Endless Quest" means although it is an Endless quest, it still has a quest goal which can complete the quest (thus it is not really "Infinite" or "endless" technically), for example "A Light in the Sky" and Sunward endless quest "Defeat Nurarihyon".

DO NOT uninstall this mod while current week's town event is Servant Summoning Ritual, otherwise the savefile will CRASH!
To uninstall this mod safely, please firstly skip to another week that has any other town event or doesn't have a town event at all.
