History

Ares Combat Industries was originally founded on Mars as Ares Propulsion Systems (APS). APS started out as a rather small propulsion systems manufacturer that quickly revolutionised known propulsion systems with new technology. The small company reached their breakthrough once the United Space Exploration Agency (USEA) began to fund them. APS then got interested in interstellar jump drive technology and began to develop their first drive. Their initial test had gone horribly wrong. The science ship that was used to carry out the test had disappeared during the test and was thought to be gone forever, however the same vessel somehow managed to reach the Alpha Orionis System roughly 600 lightyears away. Survivors managed to contact the Sol System and a rescue operation had been started and spearheaded by the APS founders. After having arrived in the Ori System and rescued the survivors the APS founders Hauser and Medlock quickly realized the potential and mineral richness of the System and began planning for the future eventually leading to the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Orion.

ACI

Ares combat Industries specializes in the production of advanced warships, weapon systems and military technology and is based in the Alpha Orionis System. ACI is partially owned by the Republic of Orion, but the main stakeholder is still its original founder, and therefore the DRO is its main military contractor. The larger ACI vessels are explicitly built for the Republican Navy or Allied Nations however, the smaller vessels like corvettes, strike craft and occasionally Frigates can be bought by companies that require them for defensive purposes.

Ship Design

ACI designs their ships to be uniform in order to be recognized immediately as an ACI warship. The ships dagger like shape made them so recognizable, however some ACI ships are an exception to that design standard. Nowadays ACI ships can be put in five groups: The 1st Generation (All ships that have been decomissioned), the 2nd Generation (Valiant Carrier, Javelin Carrier, Vanguard MK II,...) and the 3rd Generation (Ascendancy Titan to FR-4 Challenger). The 4th Generation consists out of ships like the Endurance, Allegiance and Sentinel. The 5th Generation will be all ACI ships following the Arx Light Defense Station.

All ships are built to be survival ready.
