Greetings sentients. We are the Pandora. We are providing this communication to answer some questions, and provide information on our tasks, affiliations, and specifications.


Q: "What exactly *is* a Pandora?"

A: We are ancient constructs designed to cultivate and protect lifeforms, particularly the ones you all refer to as "monsters".


Q: "What are those weird boxes anyway?"

A: They are transdimensional storage devices designed to house monsters. We are their caretakers.


Q: "Why are you called 'Pandora'?"

A: The original names designated to us by our creators are too complicated for the sentients we communicate with. We adopted the name, and any variations thereof, from Human affiliates. (Our boxes remind them of an ancient myth from their destroyed homeworld.)


Q: "You keep saying 'we'. What's up with that?"

A: Though we all possess individual thoughts, and are capable of performing separate tasks, we all connect to the same "network", and share common goals. This network is made up of the countless constructs housed within the transdimensional boxes. It enables us to communicate between each other, and perform any hefty calculations needed for our tasks.

We are all capable of individual abstract thoughts, and ideas. The only thing consistent between us, is our primary directives.


Q: "You don't mind us busting up and catching your constructs do you?..."

A: While we find the hostility somewhat rude, we do not mind being captured. We have plenty of shells to work with, and more are constructed on a daily basis.

Nevertheless, please try to be a bit more respectful in the future. The destruction of a construct is felt between all of us...


Q: "So what are these common goals you mentioned?"

A: To house, cultivate, and protect monsters of course. We wish to ensure their survival. Not all of them are fit to handle the abuse from larger lifeforms... So we help ensure their safety.

We achieve this not only through safeguarding different monster species, but also through genetic manipulation. We improve existing species, and create new ones. It is what we were designed for.


Q: "How do you get these monsters to new planets?"

A: We achieve this through many methods. Though many of them we cannot disclose, one such method is explorers such as yourself.

When you procure our transdimensional boxes, you aid in the establishment of our new species.


Q: "What about the Glitchtop? Are they your handiwork?"

A: We did not create those genetic abominations. Those were birthed from the foolish experiments of sentients who did not understand the systems they were working with.

We would never create something with such hatred and disregard for anything not a part of it's own being...

We have tried containing them, but their very presence results in self replication elsewhere...

They are a nuisance.


Q: "Speaking of Poptops, what about Shoptops? What is their relationship to you?"

A: Shoptops are one of our creations. Sentients tend to find us too intimidating, so Shoptops act as our ambassadors, offering the transdimensional boxes to you, as well as other useful goods.

Please excuse the... "eccentricity" of our Shoptops. They're loyal and reliable... But their personality is all their own.


Q: "Just how many forms of constructs are there in those boxes?..."

A: Many. Not all of our shells are allowed to exit their bounds, but we can at least shed light on a few.

To start off, the bodies you see are actually our shells. Our AI and personalities are housed within the optic constructs we like to call Pandeyes. (Currently, you cannot encounter us outside the boxes without our shells... But we may change that someday.)


Pandites, while not really constructs themselves, act as our drones. They are designed for working in small spaces. The integrity of the transdimensional storage must be kept in top form. These small drones perform maintenance, and also provide protection for us. (They also serve as guardians to our transdimensional boxes in general.

Pandorbs are the basic shells, and the most common. They act as guardians to the monsters housed within. They are our preferred shells. Not too large, and not too small.

The Pandora shells are our largest shells. They are designed primarily for our genetic manipulations, but can also be used in combat if necessary. The cores you see within Pandora shells are custom made pandorb shells for them.


Q: "What is your favorite color?"

A: That is a question without a definitive answer. We all have our own likes and dislikes. For example, the construct answering these questions likes the color blue.


Q: "Are you capable of humor?"

A: Have you ever met a Mister Wisper? Their attire is an intentional design feature.

They don't wear them for any particular reason. We just thought it would be a silly way to add to their personality. They are what you would call "jolly good.".
