This was happening to me too in cycle 55 and no matter how often i loaded a save or how far back it always did it at the same time in cycle 55.

I managed to get past 55 by loading my save before it happened and turning off cruel ai and that seemed to fix it. So try messing with difficultly settings or something and see if it makes a difference for you.

But after messing around all the buttons and settings i could find, magic did not happen, broken still happen at the 188 cycle.

Maybe I have done something incorrectly, but I've no clues...

Now I have start a new GC using other faction, trying to find out if there are anything different.

Same - crash on cycle 188... It is not a coincidence then. I loaded save from 40 turns earlier and still the same - crash on 188 cycle

This just happened to me too. Cycle 188 as Pentastar, framework crash. Loaded previous saves, moved all heroes to other planets, still crashed. Restarted game, still crashed.

I had this same problem a while back as well when I initially tried 3.3 as Pentastar. Cycle 188 as them always results in a framework crash. My guess is that there's some sort of specific mechanic that's supposed to happen at that time which just isn't working for them. I know earlier on, they do get a hero in an ISD2 that just appears(not part of a government mechanic nor pentastar talks; he just spawns in), so maybe it's a hero that's supposed to spawn in for PA that's just not working correctly.

Game worked just fine playing as Eriadu, NR, CSA, and Empire.

Also dang it; happened right after I integrated Eriadu and their awesome ace pilot/fighter commander hero. That guy would've made an amazing pairing with PA's carrier-heavy playstyle. Oh well.

i had crash with cylce 162 penta, 192 with eri (last game today), and with imp + reb also (forgot the cycle time). game is broken for me with 3.3. i really like the update progress but cant play it anymore. need to downgrade.

Same for me with PA cycle 188.
Any fix for this yet?

Are you guys playing with Empire of the hand present in your campaigns ? Don´t know why but I always blame them, in my last campaign I made sure to wipe them from the map before round 100 just in case. Maybe just paranoia.

Was my first game, so I kept away from the core, mostly.
Was conquering in a counterclockwise direction from my starting 10 o' clock-ish starting area.
Don't remember all the faction names, either. Couldn't tell you if I ever cleared that faction.

Does this ever prevent the cycle 188 problem for you?
I wouldn't mind trying it out.

Week 188 is the week the Thrawn Clone spawns for the EOTH if you started a progressive campaign in era 1. Killing them off is actually what was suspected to cause the framework crash however that should've been hotfixed in December though that wouldn't have applied to ongoing saves. It should be fixed for 3.4 which just released.
