Space Battles Lag
Space battles are slide shows. Land battles run smooth but the space battles are horrendous.

The unfortunate reality is that EAW is an old game on an old engine. It cannot take advantage of newer hardware in an effective manner. Due to its age it cannot use more than a single CPU core so larger space battles with many fighters are very slow.

I know but this is much worse than the last version. This kinda lag only popped up with large Hapan fleets and it still wasn't this laggy. I had a small Hutt fleet attacking an isolated Home One and it took nearly ten minutes. It seems like the 64 bit update just isn't getting along with the mod.

Uninstall BonziBuddy then, its not good for you. Never had any performance issue in this game neither with this PC, my old one or the one before that on all the popular mods.

The only thing that the 64bit update is not getting along is your PC.

Only exception is Phoenix Rising on the GC but that thing wont run on anything lol

Hmmm, that doesn't line up with my experience. Something that small should give you at least non single digit frames.

What about .exe settings? Is disable fullscreen optimizations checked? What about high DPI settings? Compatibility modes?

Is battle speed in the game's options menu set really low?

The lag is much, much worse for me as well post-hotfix. Not sure what to do to fix it right now.

EDIT: rebooted and lag is gone now... go figure lol
