I could not play the game with these mods for more than a few minutes without random crashes and app faults. The problem is running the game with too many cores on your CPU.

My CPU has 32 cores, plenty to play any game EXCEPT old games like Empire at war which was designed to run on your computer with 1 or 2 cores.

Here is the solution, set your PC to only run the game on 2 cores. To do this...

1- Open task manager while game is running
2- right click on Empire at war
3- select "Go to Details"
4- right click on the highlighted Empire at war while in the details tab.
5- Click on "set Affinity"
6- Click on the box that says "All Processors" to deselect all cores.
7- Click on the boxs of "CPU 0" and "CPU 1"
8- Click OK, Exit task manager.

You are all set to play the game as much as you'd like! SADLY you will have to do this every time you close and replay the game (but after doing it a couple times, this only takes 15 seconds). Maybe there is a better way, please share in comments.
