Balance
Discuss balance here:

Notable topics:
  • Sovereign is likely overpowered for its position on the tree
  • Queen may be lacking damage potential when compared to Whisper
  • Persisting Images likely needs a cooldown
  • Damage-dealing perks such as Knock Them Down and Knowledge is Power may be broken in combination with one another
  • Extinction Event possibly overpowered. It now causes the Gatherer to fall unconcious after use. This should make sure they get captured every time it is used.

Mind Wrack i would suggest changing to a high damage ability instead of a instant kill.

maybe make them start with normal gear instead of plasma weapons and the strongest armor

Soldiers start with beam weapons. Abilities are fine, this is a single player game so "OP" abilities are fine, but starting with end game weapons after the first mission....that might need a tweak.

The instant kill PSI ability is...okay-ish..... but it needs an exemption. It works on alien rulers...it needs...uh not to?

Mind Wrack probably will not receive nerfs, and considering the other actions you can take, I would consider it to be on the weaker side of possible options. I'm not sure if exempting the Alien Rulers or the Chosen will happen. Probably not, since these classes are not designed for or balanced around being able to take them on every mission. Right now, you can, but don't expect it to always be that way.

I will be releasing a patch shortly to deal with the Beam weapons on promotion issue, that was a debug setting I had not intended to ship. It will also let the Gatherer and Berseker 'Headshot' the Lost.

Fair enough. I only brought it up because of how Wotc handles alien rulers. If you choose not to go the route of the Viper Nest with Bradford....They get assigned to Avatar research bases. Its even pointed out prior to attacking that one of the rulers is present.

Eh. That was my only suggestion for balance. They seem fine on higher difficulty settings.

Sounds good, I don't necessarily mind having the stuff that early as I've simply chosen not to use it, but it does break the idea of having to research all of those techs a little bit.

maybe the one skill move should not work on chosen rules, avatars and other really big bosses

This mod hasn't been supported since Sep 1, 2018. I recommend using its successor, The Program, instead.
